I mean mixing their names and then essentially saying to Jose that he isn't good enough to ride his horses and they need Irad instead was rude on another level.
Both Repole and Stewart act like high schoolers though. I have a feeling the daughter has always heard swearing ALL the time, so Repole flipping Stewart off in front of her probably is normal to her.
Then watch Stewart forget his name again and write the check to Irad.

Going to be honest, I was so second-hand embarrassed by the name mixup that I clicked away... it's all very silly and nobody involved is doing themselves any favors, but there's something about Stewart that is just increasingly bothering me. I do get the feeling that he isn't going to stick around in this sport for very long, at least.
In other, and far more unpleasant, news, Frank Stronach has been arrested and charged with sexual assaults (and worse) spanning over four decades: https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/canadian-bus ... -1.6918544

I just saw the screenshot of the flipping off part, I couldn't watch 15 minutes of that crap.Tessablue wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 7:53 pm Going to be honest, I was so second-hand embarrassed by the name mixup that I clicked away... it's all very silly and nobody involved is doing themselves any favors, but there's something about Stewart that is just increasingly bothering me. As for the Stronach situation, as sad as it is and how much I wish I didn't feel this way, it never surprises me at all when insanely rich and, or people with power, get charged for stuff like this. They think they can get away with anything because they used to be able to. I'm glad that finally its starting to look like they can't.

God I'm hoping whoever wins the Belmont today it ISNT a repole horse. I'm a fan of mindframe and think he's talented but the owner is insufferable.Flanders wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 7:27 pm I mean mixing their names and then essentially saying to Jose that he isn't good enough to ride his horses and they need Irad instead was rude on another level.

Yeah my first reaction was "did I know this already?" Glad they still endeavored to bring him to justice despite his age... although apparently he was still "active" as recently as last yearFlanders wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 8:15 pm As for the Stronach situation, as sad as it is and how much I wish I didn't feel this way, it never surprises me at all when insanely rich and, or people with power, get charged for stuff like this. I saw a couple posts from Amanda Simmons Luby from Wellbourne Stud in KY where he was definitely a creep and more probably would have happened. But she was smart and was able to get herself out of the situation.Tessablue wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 12:53 pmYeah my first reaction was "did I know this already?" John Stewart has posted that he is taking the high road and took down his recent live stream posts and posts vs Repole etc. Good for him. https://x.com/jstewartrr/status/1799771 ... 67244?s=46

Ken Ramsey gets a new kidney today.
"I've passed all my tests and my donor has passed all his essential tests," Ramsey said. "I will be the oldest kidney transplant they've ever done. The (United States) record is 84 and I'm going to be 88, seven months, and 17 days (Thursday).
Is it true.......they asked him to pay for everything in advance?

I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

As I was getting into and then got into my teens, my uncle and a friend partnered to claim a QH or two. The first one they ever claimed, in 1975, was a sorrel gelding named Quest T Bargo, claimed for the princely sum of 4K. He was claimed away from Ed Allred. He won first time out and then gradually regressed. Almost a year later they dropped him down to 3K and he was claimed by some guy named Lukas who promptly moved Quest T Bargo up to the 10K level, winning a few times and even placed in a few Allowance races. Coach eventually lost him to a claim by some non-descript connections who couldn’t maintain his form.stark wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 12:24 pm Just stumbled upon this and thought it was a good read some here might enjoy.

Will have to double check with the wife but I think I had perfect attendance there in 1975.Curtis wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 1:43 pmAs I was getting into and then got into my teens, my uncle and a friend partnered to claim a QH or two. Repole bought some colts and fillies in Japan during the Select Sale. I love this!
Japan sales are starting to get international buyers, this is great.

“I am hoping to get a licence to race as an owner in Japan."
American billionaire Mike Repole bought five yearlings for export at Northern Horse Park's #SelectSale on Monday, but in future he’d love to have horses race for him in Japan.
@RepoleStable
“I would like to see the blue and orange silks in Japan and race some horses there,” he added half-jokingly, knowing all too well that orange is not one of the JRA’s 13 allowable colours for racing silks.
“I would like to run a couple of horses in Japan; I would like to send some US bred horses to Japan and some Japanese bred horses here to the US.”
“I think they (Japanese breeders) have done a better job with the breed in the last twenty years than we have in the States,” Repole said.
“Years of them breeding for racing versus breeding to sell has really paid dividends, both with turf and dirt horses. They have more durability, they are getting speed and getting distance.”
