Welp...Nooni is all that and a bag of chips. Wins the 6th at Santa Anita by 10 lengths in a canter.
The daughter of Win Win Win might be worth that $1.8 million price.

Been looking into the name "Nooni." I have found several different meanings but I assume it is one of the Arabic ones.
Nooni, Arabic name meaning: "a fruitful gift."
Nooni, a word meaning "ninth interval" in music (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/nooni)
Nooni, Arabic name meaning "sword blade" or "sharp like a blade."
It is also a European surname and a word for some kind of butter.

Somewhere, I don't remember , said it was Amr's nickname for his wife. Nooni is at least the 2nd horse named after his wife cause her name is Princess Noor.Mylute wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 9:10 am Been looking into the name "Nooni." LMFAO I was just about to edit my post with the closing, "Now watch it be something he invented because it sounded cute or like a child relative named the horse."

Nooni's workmate goes in Friday's 6th race at Santa Anita, MIDLAND MONEY @ 4/5 on the morning line.Flanders wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 6:50 pmImpressiveSqueaky wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 5:02 pm Nooni , the 1.8 M filly by Win Win Win is debuting tonight in the 6th race at SA for Bob/ Zedan. https://www.drf.com/news/nooni-looks-si ... ated-debut
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

Gorgeous almost black colt won very impressively wire to wire in fast time. Smash It also ran well for second but needs to learn to change leads. Wonder where the name comes from-wealthy area in England? Anyone know anything about the ownership group?stark wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 10:54 amNooni's workmate goes in Friday's 6th race at Santa Anita, MIDLAND MONEY @ 4/5 on the morning line.Flanders wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 6:50 pmImpressiveSqueaky wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2024 5:02 pm Nooni , the 1.8 M filly by Win Win Win is debuting tonight in the 6th race at SA for Bob/ Zedan. https://www.drf.com/news/nooni-looks-si ... ated-debut

Not alot, its Bill and Alex Childs, a father and son from Texas. They've had just a few horses. Awesome Strong who swept the Florida Sire Stakes at 2 in 2022, he ran in the Haskell last year but hasn't won since his 2yo year. And they have a 3yo, Pilot Commander, with Baffert, who is (2)1-1-0, finished 2nd in the San Vicente(G2) but hasn't raced since then(January 6th) and last worked February 25th. There is a Midland Texas so he is probably named after that, given his owners are from Texas.

Thanks- never liked horse names with “money” in them-Are these owners different from the BC Racing group from Texas that has horses with Lukas?Flanders wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 8:03 pmNot alot, its Bill and Alex Childs, a father and son from Texas. They've only had 8 horses that have started under the partnership name, none under their own names. None have been with Lukas. 2 with Baffert, 2 with Jorge Delgado, 4 with Texas based Karen Jacks.Squeaky wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 9:24 pmThanks- never liked horse names with “money” in them-Are these owners different from the BC Racing group from Texas that has horses with Lukas?Flanders wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2024 8:03 pmNot alot, its Bill and Alex Childs, a father and son from Texas. They also bought some other 2yos earlier in the year. Cash Call, Landman Friday, Pecos River, and the sales topper(tie) unnamed Tiz The Law filly from the OBS June sale that just ended. Assume they all went to Baffert.

Did anyone happen to watch the G1 Ladbrokes J.J. Atkins that just ran at Eagle Farm in Australia? If not, might want to find a replay.
The 1-mile test for 2yos was won by Broadsiding (Too Darn Hot x Speedway [Street Cry]) in such dominating fashion that the rider was standing in the irons, saluting the air, before they even crossed the wire. The near-black colt was so far ahead of the rest of the big field.

Broadsiding was a wow winner and his jockey was fined $500 for his celebratory gesture prior to passing the wire.
Thanks for the heads-up!!

Hoping he trains on next year, he looks like a monster. Wasn't quite ready in time for the more prestigious Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond, but he's absolutely dominated the end of season races for 2 year olds. I would imagine he'd be Champion 2 y/o.
Coolmore had to splash out the cash for what they hoped would be the superstar Aussie two year old (Storm Boy) by their young stallion (Justify)... only for Godolphin to come along late in the game with a homebred star by one of their own young stallions. What a game.
