Foaling Season 2024

Do you know if Expo Gold had her foal this year?

Nothing on Equineline. She foaled in late January last year, so I would guess she didn't get in foal or lost it. Though sometimes farms are late reporting. They also don't post their foals on X, I checked to see.

Figured its something like that. She hasn't had great history with producing foals recently. 3 years in a row barren, dead foal, barren.

They have a complete herd of beef cattle at their Irish base. They use them for pasture rotation, using their used winter bedding as fertilizer, and general beef production. They had a documentary series on vimeo or something in 2020 where they outlined the day to day running of their Irish farm. I guess they also use some of the friendlier ones as babysitters for weanlings?

In Australia (& New Zealand) the rules state as long as the mare was bred after 1st September the foal counts as a 2024 foal. So a early foal is not penalized as being a year older.
