His dam, Together Forever, was seventh in the Oaks in 2015. Her younger full sister, Forever Together, won the Oaks in 2018.i always get the names mixed up (I had to check the names 3x before I made this post).

Oh I wish they would stop naming horses similar names. At least Together Forever is still a G1 winner!

Then add to the mix the George Strawbridge owned Forever Together who was Champion Turf Mare/MG1SW in the US, less than 10 years before the other 2 and its massively confusing.

For the longest time I thought this was the dam of City of Troy, I admit and I couldn't believe that people weren't more in love with him!

Following discussions between the Coolmore partners and trainers Aidan O’Brien and Chad Brown, Los Angeles (Camelot) will take his place in the €1,250,000 Irish Derby field on June 30th at the Curragh, where he will bid to emulate his sire in winning Ireland’s premier Classic.

European Champion Two-Year-Old and decisive Epsom Derby victor, City Of Troy (Justify) will drop back in trip for Sandown’s 10-furlong feature, the Gr.1 Eclipse Stakes, on the following Saturday, July 6th.

Auguste Rodin (Deep Impact) will bid to notch up his sixth success at the highest level in the Gr.1 Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Kentucky Derby runner-up and Belmont Stakes third Sierra Leone will be aimed at the Gr.1 Travers Stakes at Saratoga.

I posted an article in the Across the Pond thread where it sounded like Tabor didn't want Sierra Leone and City of Troy to race against each other. But that they did want City of Troy to race on the dirt. Of course they said the same about Auguste Rodin and that doesn't look to be happening.

I posted an article in the Across the Pond thread where it sounded like Tabor didn't want Sierra Leone and City of Troy to race against each other. But that they did want City of Troy to race on the dirt. Of course they said the same about Auguste Rodin and that doesn't look to be happening.

I wonder/hope if City of Troy wins the Eclipse in dominant fashion, that they would target the Travers. I can understand wanting to keep them separated, but twice now Sierra Leone has proven he is very beatable at the top level, while City of Troy has only had one major blip. They have already said that City of Troy is the best horse theyve ever had, and when it comes to who would be more valuable with a Travers win to their name, is it the homebred Classic winner by one of their stallions? Or the horse who lugs his way out of G1 wins.

Yes, I am very biased. But I just want the fun option. It’s more fun if City of Troy comes over.

Love that they are taking on elders! Travers would be fun, but I'd have to imagine that they are really desperate for Sierra Leone to get that Classic win. Breeders' Cup, though... anything goes.

His stride doesn't scream dirt to me, and his damside is turf up and down. But I'm sure not going to complain about good horses racing against each other.

Aidan O’Brien has outlined the Breeders’ Cup Classic as the long-term objective for his Coral-Eclipse-bound Derby hero City Of Troy.

Last season’s champion juvenile may have failed to fire as an odds-on favourite for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on his three-year-old debut, but any notion he had not trained on was dismissed by a sensational display at Epsom earlier this month.

With his star colt being a son of American Triple Crown hero Justify, connections have long been of the opinion that he could prove just as effective on dirt as he is on turf, making him an obvious candidate in O’Brien’s quest to claim an elusive Breeders’ Cup Classic success.

An early trip across the Atlantic for a first run on dirt in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga in late August had been mentioned as a possibility earlier in the year – and while that plan was ultimately shelved, with owners Coolmore instead targeting that race with Kentucky Derby runner-up and Belmont Stakes third Sierra Leone, O’Brien remains keen on a Classic bid come the autumn.
