Someone said now he has a stress fracture of his pelvis. Since he's turning eight in January they are calling it quitsFlanders wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 6:54 pmGood because he obviously has some kind of soundness issue and still does. He has missed big parts of almost every year he raced except his 3yo year. Add to that he has had 4 intra-articular injections this year, one each month from February to May. When a horse gets those constantly it is really worrisome and a red flag to me.

Someone on one of the fan run mrh groups just asked if there was any possibility they could ride Caldera. They said even just a walk or a gallop..their dream is to ride a grey horse. Someone asked is this a joke post? Nope the op was serious.
I can't see ANY way lukas or mrh ever let's that happen

They basically said they bought a share in him so they want to ride him and other places allow it(which I hugely doubt for liability reasons). They've ridden barrel horses and want to try riding calderaForTheThrill wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 5:55 pmI don't even have any words.TapitsGal wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 5:49 pm Someone on one of the fan run mrh groups just asked if there was any possibility they could ride Caldera. I would tell them to put down the crack pipe. And if they want to ride a grey horse, to go find a pony ride somewhere.TapitsGal wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 6:05 pmThey basically said they bought a share in him so they want to ride him and other places allow it(which I hugely doubt for liability reasons). I picked up Rylee's Song 22 strictly for the Jena Antonucci angle, specifically after her post-race interview for the Astoria. I also really loved Capt. Candyman Can though, too.
Not even remotely tempted by the Improbable. Dam didn't do anything, 2nd dam doesn't have anything exciting under her, 3rd dam honestly doesn't have much either. I know sometimes gems pop up out of nowhere, but I really like a more accomplished family.
We'll see what the others look like and cost.

Results
ADaay in Asia finished 3rd
Simply Enchanting finished 2nd
Entries:
Guinevere entered in MSW at Churchill Downs on 6/9
Kanthari entered in claiming at Laurel on 6/7
Seize the Grey entered in Belmont Stakes(G1) at Saratoga on 6/8
Lane Way retired due to pelvic fracture. MRH is indeed hoping to send him to Old Friends.
New horses up for sale from the F-T Mid-Atlantic Sale. Per interview in Bloodhorse, the remaining 2 horses should be up for sale next week.
Vekoma x Rylee's Song
Improbable x Lahaina Luck
If Seize the Grey has a less than stellar performance this weekend, at least we can blame the post position
re: Caldera owner saying he/she wants to ride Caldera. Clearly, this person has never seen the requirements to become an exercise rider. Unfortunately, part of Seize the Grey winning the Preakness means we have more of these people as owners now.

I updated the first post on this thread to include the poor financials of racehorses as a micro share owner. I hope it will ward off some unrealistic expectations. If anyone has additional ideas you think I should add, please let me know.

Are they an actual owner in the actual Caldera FB page? Or are they just some random troll causing trouble in a fan run page?TapitsGal wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 6:05 pmThey basically said they bought a share in him so they want to ride him and other places allow it(which I hugely doubt for liability reasons). Seize the Grey ran 7th after battling dornoch most of the race. Lots of seize the grey people now calling for the horse to get a break and come back for the Travers. I'm skeptical lukas gives the horse longer than a few days off unless mrh pushes it and sends him on a break anyway

They aren't going to send him away for a break unless he has some physical problem because I would say its 100% he is retiring next year. I fully expect him in either the Haskell(July 20th) or the Jim Dandy(July 27th). So that is 6 or 7 weeks away. Gives the horse a semi-break from racing for a bit.

Personally I’d love to see a rest and Travers but who knows. Probably won’t happen though.TapitsGal wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 7:16 pm Seize the Grey ran 7th after battling dornoch most of the race. I think maybe the West Virginia Derby, then BC Mile? I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to go 10f again.

I would be SHOCKED if he doesn't run in the California Crown. SHOCKED.

I'd also be shocked. Michael behrens specifically named that race as a target he discussed with lukasCoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 9:38 pm I would be SHOCKED if he doesn't run in the California Crown. SHOCKED.

Thought Grey looked tired in the paddock and his gallops did not look as strong despite Coach saying he was coming into the race better than the Preakness. Would have him checked for ulcers and a PET scan to look for any early bone bruising.
