As technology progresses I've decided to be appreciative.

For the sake of comparison, when I was younger we got one race per week on TV, Gil Stratton calling the 8th race on Saturdays on channel 2.

At that same time, if you wanted to know the results of a particular race and missed it on 1070AM on the quarter hour, and also missed Bill Garr's recreation at 6pm, then you had to wait for the morning paper to be delivered.

Then technology started improving and if you wanted to hear the stretch calls all you had to do was dial 976-RACE on your landline phone and agree to the charge of $2 per race.

Then came TVG into my living room and I was no longer forced onto the 405 or 210 freeways to watch and bet on the races, ahhhh heaven.

And now "FanDrool" comes along promoting sporting events, over and unders, most catches, most hits etc. The biggest problem is that we can't get a bet down in California, but that too will change some day, I hope I last that long cuz I sure do appreciate it.

Stark, the youngun's just don't realize how hard it was to get information==I have fond memories of the Saturday stakes races with Gil Stratton (and Harry Henson) and I even might have called the results number---but when I first signed on with TVG in around 2001--even if a lot of the programming was The Quarters at Los Al (incidentally, an entertaining show with hosts who didn't take it too seriously, who remembers the Flaming Wheelie Bus? ) I just felt I'd died and gone to heaven. Being able to watch races across the country is something I don't take for granted.

Nah, I only see it used here and some facebook groups honestly. I know people, and am good friends with people, who work for FanDuel so I definitely don't hear it from them

Does anyone from the NY metro area remember the old Charlie Cantey /Dave Johnson/ the late Frank Wright Ch 9 show it was a half hour every Sat on the late 70’s early to mid 80’s. Very enjoyable show with great hosts. They showed the feature and the race after from the NY tracks. Then there was NYRA’s Harvey Pack who did a racing recap show on NY SportsChannel on cable in the late 80’s/ 90’s was a recap of all the NY track races that day. He always signed off with “ May the horse be with you”.

The WOR show was before my time, but if you watched that, I'm sure you watched the Saturday night trotter shows on WOR with Stan Bergstein. I used to watch that and WWF wrestling at midnight. The theme song was classic "I believe in Yonkers" and "Roosevelt Raceway...where it all began where it is today."

And Spencer Ross is still "on assignment."

Fandrool hasn't been showing racing from Belmont@Aqueduct, but losing the ability to wager on them or show replays is new. And I'm sure NYRA is using that as a strong negotiating tactic.
Makes me even more grateful for Fox's broadcasts of NY racing, but their time slots are often abbreviated and don't show all the races every day.

NYRA, FanDuel Settle Saratoga Impasse Before First Post

The racing from Saratoga was scheduled for FSN2 at 10 am PT, but there is no racing being shown, just BoringBall Blather. So far we have missed the G1 A.P. Smithwick Memorial Steeplechase, and about to miss a 11 1/8-mile MSW.
I wish TVG/Fandrool would get the rights to the NY signal back. That way, horse racing won't get dumped for Blather on Fox.
ETA: Hmmm....I just checked DRF for the Results on the Smithwick, and there aren't any results. Saratoga isn't even shown on the track results list. Did they cancel today? No mention of that (yet) on either Bloodhorse or Paulick.

You should be able to watch on NYRA's YouTube channel. That's how I've been watching.
