While waiting for more details on The Belmont Stakes, I highly reccomend reading the wonderful factoid article put out by NYRA on their site. Starts from very beginning and culminates with last year's winner.
Some stuff I knew, some I had forgotten, and some I didn't even know about at all. If you love histories and details you will love this piece.
A delightful read for sure.. imagine winning a saddle and less than $2k for the innaugural.

I bet Jaime sends STG to the lead in the Belmont but Dornoch will definitely gun for it too since he needs the lead to win. Mindframe won his last race on the lead but he won his debut sitting off the pace.

So is McPeek saying he will only send one of his two (MD and TA) and not both?

He will not get the easy lead he got in the Preakness -depends how much he can relaxCoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 8:27 am I bet Jaime sends STG to the lead in the Belmont but Dornoch will definitely gun for it too since he needs the lead to win. STG doesn't need the lead so Im not worried about him, if he doesn't get the lead, but I am hoping that they won't fight Dornoch for it if Dornoch really wants it.Squeaky wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:45 amHe will not get the easy lead he got in the Preakness -depends how much he can relaxCoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 8:27 am I bet Jaime sends STG to the lead in the Belmont but Dornoch will definitely gun for it too since he needs the lead to win. Me too, Tessa'! I've been disappointed ( and a little concerned) that he hasn't appeared on any "probables" listings since the Preakness, so I'm thrilled to hear that he is at least being considered. I bet him in the Derby, and even though I lost my wager, I was very happy with the way he performed. I will be very interested in him again if Bill thinks he's good to go, though I doubt we'll see double digits on him again!
It's probably safe to assume that, if he runs, Junior will retain the mount, don't you think?

I would expect Junior to ride, yes! Maybe not double-digits, but we can dream... he had a great work this morning and was entered in the race. Very excited to bet on this horse, he has a fantastic chance. I think Bill concluded that he couldn't handle 10f while he was still disappointed from the Derby, but probably watched the race a few times and realized that he ran super.Missbeholder wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 5:17 pmMe too, Tessa'! There are going to be a few overlays that can definitely win - thanks to SL, STG and the Pletcher horses.Tessablue wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 8:37 pmI would expect Junior to ride, yes! Resilience is one, Honor Marie is another.

I like many horses here. But I wouldn't mind if Honor Marie won, since my mom bet him for the Derby.
It has been a while since a horse won two legs of the TC that wasn't the first two, so I think it would be cool if either Seize the Grey or Mystik Dan won.
Always been a fan of Dornoch and The Wine Steward. I like Antiquarian's name.

I checked the weather report this morning. There’s a chance of rain this Saturday. It’s not supposed to rain much at all, but weather reports have been known to be off.
So other than Mystik Dan and Seize the Grey, who else likes mud?

Do we know who has raced at Saratoga? I know Seize the Grey broke his maiden there but anybody else already have a win or good race over it?

Yea I am a bit nervous about him being in post position 1, especially with Dornoch and Mindframe (if he goes to the lead) on the outside of him

Hope he can make it the outside a bit if he tracks them just off the paceCoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 5:35 pmYea I am a bit nervous about him being in post position 1, especially with Dornoch and Mindframe (if he goes to the lead) on the outside of him
