Silver Knott (Lope de Vega) wins the 1 3/8-mile G2 Man o' War Stakes at Belmont@Aqueduct, with Ohana Honor (Honor Code) a good 2nd. Favored Nation's Pride was 3rd.
Imho, Japan was not mistaken when they acquired Honor Code, whose Japanese offspring will be running mostly on turf.

Yeah, he’s actually a fine turf sire, sneaky good.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 3:50 pm Silver Knott (Lope de Vega) wins the 1 3/8-mile G2 Man o' War Stakes at Belmont@Aqueduct, with Ohana Honor (Honor Code) a good 2nd. Favored Nation's Pride was 3rd.

Ohana has really improved this year, and he loves running long. The winner was clearly best, but he handled the class jump well.
I’ve always had a soft spot for this colt - he has such a unique blaze, and a gorgeous tail

I hope Kabirkhan thrives under the tutelage of a top pro like Cox. Training and racing on our manicured racecourses will be a bit of a change from his humble (and muddy) beginnings.

I wasn't expecting that but maybe I should have. Nonetheless it will be interesting to see where he stacks up in our older male division.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2024 7:21 am https://x.com/whr/status/17907011468996 ... cVsq85iB0A

Pyrenees (Into Mischief x Our Khrysty) won the Pimlico Special at Pimlico over Kingsbairns. New shooter in the older horse division.

Pyrenees upsets Kingbarns in the Pimlico Special. The race was run at a crawl (24.80/50.26/1:15.57). Harlocap was third, Red Route One fourth.stelladaniella wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 2:57 pm Kingsbarns and Red Route One are meeting up in the Pimlico Special.

Saez's ride on Kingsbarns was, as the kids say, a choice.
(unrelated, but I'm sure not going to be upset when 1/ST has to hand over Pimlico to the state. The horrendous odds drops from CAWs, the My Race Horse ads... it's not a good product right now).

Unfortunately now sidelined with a knee chip that will need surgery. I didn’t know about all the other surgeries he has had. Maybe time to call it a day.Squeaky wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 6:07 pmRick Dutrow seems to have turned him aroundCoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 5:39 pm Messier wins the G3 Westchester Stakes at Aqueduct over Post Time and Charge It

Aww....10yr Bound For Nowhere just won the 7th at Churchill, a 5 1/2-furlong AOC on the turf. The venerable sprinter is still trained by Wesley Ward, who has done a great job keeping the horse happy and still competitive. But....BFN was in for the $80,000 claiming tag. Will someone claim him away from Ward? I hope not.
ETA: I watched BFN, Ward & his team in the winner's circle, and there was no tag attached to his bridle when the celebration was done. He was being led back home by his own groom.

The Chosen Vron easily won the Thor's Echo Stakes at Santa Anita. Berrios didn't even uncock his crop coming down the stretch...just gave the horse his head and TCV did all the rest. Such a cool horse, with a ton of stakes wins. Maybe the best Cal-bred we've seen in a LONG time?

I was checking the stakes results on Equibase and saw that G2 Weston (Hit It A Bomb) had his first start of the year, winning his 11th race in a row. He has been running at small tracks since summer 2022, twice in Mixed breed races. IDK if they are all fair meets, I don't think I've heard of some of these tracks before.
