That was an ugly one. Think it was a case of the gate guy holding on way too long when the horses jumped the break...Katewerk wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2024 5:44 pm Bad wreck in the gate at AQU R7. Ribbons And Medals, report on X was that he and the rider were up and standing but if no one was injured in that chaos, it's a miracle.

I looked a few days ago. The last I could find on Repole's twitter was a video of her working mid-April, though she didn't post a workout time. The post said she'd be going to Saratoga in May https://twitter.com/RepoleStable/status ... 5698031776 When she had returned to Pletcher they said she'd aim for a race in June or July. They've already ran out of time to make the Ogden Phipps on Belmont Day, maybe they go for the Shuvee at the end of July, like last year.

Repole (...) intended to race Nest this year. She had three workouts this year at Stonestreet Farm in Ocala, Fla. Just before she was to ship to trainer Todd Pletcher’s barn at Saratoga, a diagnostic exam was performed and showed “a slight abnormality in her hind ankle,” Repole said.

Destin's Mission was just pulled up in the 5th at Aqueduct@Belmont, a 6-furlong AOC on the outer turf. Looked like he was lame.

Mr Fisk was pulled up after the race and he didn't enter the winner's circle as he was vanned off. Trainer Bob Baffert told TVG that there was no obvious injury. Jockey Kimura told Santa Anita publicity that the horse just appeared to be tired. Santa Anita publicity reported the horse was resting in his stall after the race.

Mr. Fisk has a condylar fracture and will have surgery tomorrow, per Baffert.

He didn’t run in the Alysheba (I wasn’t following closely, not sure what happened), but he is now entered in the Blame Stakes.

Terrible wreck at Northfield Harness, race 14, as a horse went off-stride, then went down in the middle of the field. At least two horses down on the track, and four drivers tossed like toys.

That is pretty amazing. I know SBs don't break down as often as TBs but, when there is a wreck, the equipment they wear and the bike can cause injuries.
