The first time I went to Kentucky (Street Sense' year) Bellamy Road was brought out for my tour group to pet and take pictures with! Maybe he got cranky with time.Mylute wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 9:28 am I'll Have Another is very friendly but can nip. Not severely enough for him to be in "time out" like Bellamy Road.
We walked up to meet Lava Man and Little Mike, and when the guide said "Lava Man escorted IHA," IHA had his head lowered but immediately looked up and pricked his ears. I had been watching IHA from a distance and caught this.
I turned around to see Milwaukee Brew "blepping" at me. He's a good boy.
Daaher bites.

I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Ramatuelle ran well today in the 1000 Guineas to finish third. She made the lead late but couldn't hold off the closers.

I think it is too early to say. If City of Troy, Opera Singer, or Just FYI don't manage to win G1s this year then I would say maybe...

He does, the best of which (that is still in training) being Aspen Grove. His 2021 crop appeared to be head and shoulders better two year olds than his 2020 crop. But the whole "training on" thing is hard to tell when his best 2020 runners like Arabian Lion, Verifying, and Statuette were retired. Statuette didn't even start in 2023.

Just FYI has only raced twice this year, both G1s, and was second in both. I don’t see how that doesn’t flatter Justify. Sure she needs to get a win this year but I don’t see how this weekend makes anyone question if his offspring are training on.
The fact that he even had the opportunity to make history this weekend is crazy.

Outstanding stamina influence Soldier Hollow has died at 24.

This was the knock against so many War Front's and (presumably) why Coolmore stopped their major support of him. So many good 2yr olds that failed to improve and run on as 3yr olds. Many failing to even win again after 2

I always assumed the Coolmore support stopped because they bought American Pharoah and had to get his career off the ground. That and Japanese breeding and sires (mostly Deep Impact) bursting onto the scene.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 12:15 amThis was the knock against so many War Front's and (presumably) why Coolmore stopped their major support of him. At least the Deep Impact decision led to some classic winners

i have a rather dumb question. what determines which stallions will be in a NH roster vs the flat roster? i'm not too familiar with European racing at all but just out of curiosity i looked through some of Coolmore's NH sires and there are some that were quite good on the flat and i don't understand why they were not in the flat roster instead?
i like plushies. a lot.

Breeders don't like stallions that are best at 10f+, especially the 12f ones. Pretty much exactly like the US commercial market. Except its more confusing in Europe since most of their prestigious races are 12f.brunanas wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 8:15 am i have a rather dumb question. what determines which stallions will be in a NH roster vs the flat roster? i'm not too familiar with European racing at all but just out of curiosity i looked through some of Coolmore's NH sires and there are some that were quite good on the flat and i don't understand why they were not in the flat roster instead?

Maybe even more confusing for Australians, who are having a hard time winning their own Race That Stops a Nation, the two-mile Melbourne Cup.

Usually its due to a lack lf support for them on the flat roster and making way for new stallions coming throughbrunanas wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 8:15 am i have a rather dumb question. what determines which stallions will be in a NH roster vs the flat roster? i'm not too familiar with European racing at all but just out of curiosity i looked through some of Coolmore's NH sires and there are some that were quite good on the flat and i don't understand why they were not in the flat roster instead?
