Santa Anita is trying to start it up, three races and you need to hit the trifecta in each leg.

Apparently it's already in use elsewhere around the world?

thanks.
Japanese Racings don't offer "triple--trifecta--wager".
We can only bet trifectas on each race.

The daughter of Deep Impact was just sent to the farm.
It sounds like she is okay, while Shinryokuka, the other filly who fell in the same race, is said to have small fractures.

Shinryokuka's jockey Kowata Takuya had a bone broken in his right hand.
We are still waiting for further information about Light Quantum's jockey Hayato Yoshida who is said to have had a head injury.

Race favorite Amante Bianco(JPN)(Henny Hughes) won the Jpn1 Haneda Hai, the first leg of the newly-created Dirt Triple Crown for 3-year-olds, under Yuga Kawada! :D
Filly Ammothyella(JPN)(Bricks and Mortar) ran a great race to finish 2nd.

That Twitter link Tachyon posted shows two loose horses running all the way down the long stretch...and not an outrider in sight. :(
I appreciate Japanese racing, and imho they do a LOT right, but.....
....I cannot count the number of times when watching Japanese races that I have seen loose horses left alone to run and run and run. I once watched a loose horse run at least six full laps of the track, mostly at a dead run, before he finally was so tired enough that someone on foot was able to take his reins.
Run and run until they're exhausted, or put a leg through dangling reins, maybe run through a fence, or finally break a leg? Why are horses left loose...to injure themselves or even die?...just because there is NO ONE out there on horseback to catch an at-risk horse?
I don't understand why Japanese tracks use NO outriders. Why tracks with so many nice facilities can not bother to hire experienced outriders and capable ponies to catch loose horses. Letting a loose horse go and go without making ANY attempt to keep it from injuring itself is just....kind of callous. It makes Japanese racing look like it doesn't actually concern itself with preventing on-track injuries. :(

That’s a terrible year... :(
We have just learned that Hayato Yoshida had a subarachnoid hemorrhage. :(
They say it's not life-threatening but it will take very long time for recovery......
We don't even know yet if he will be able to ride again.
Hayato Yoshida was the regular rider of Sodashi, too.

I agree with you, BaroqueAgain!!
Outrider is one of the US systems I really hope Japanese racings to introduce in the future.
Then JRA will have to scout many experienced outriders from the state. ;)
I remember Crown Pride(JPN) chased down by a super outrider at Churchill Downs two years ago after he fell during the workout in preparation for the Kentucky Derby!

Kate Hunter's tweet was amusing!!

And T O Saint Denis is going to be ''the first Japanese trainee to ever run on the Oaks/Derby undercard''.
I guess that he will be a non-factor in the G2.
But I hope that he will just enjoy racing at Churchill Downs! :D

Go Durezza! I am not fazed by his unplaced effort in his seasonal debut; he should be sharper this go-round and stretches back out to a distance he should relish.

It's going to be hot as summers days and the turf will be good-to-firm (formerly firm) at Kyoto today.

I like Blow the Horn, Durezza, Saliera and T O Royal in the Tenno Sho Spring.

T O Royal(JPN) became the first G1 winner for his sire Leontes(JPN)(King Kamehameha)!
His trainer Inao Okada and his jockey Yuji Hishida also celebrated their first G1 victory, respectively.

I liked this BH review! :D

''T O Royal Sweeps to His First G1 Win in the Tenno Sho''
-- The winner's owner, Tomoya Ozasa, has T O Password in the Kentucky Derby field --
Tomoya Ozasa's horses are easy to identify with their names starting with the owner's initials: T O.

tachyon, was there any update about Hapi who was pulled up? I saw something about a (possibly) right foreleg injury...?

other than that I was really chuffed for Leontes to get his winner 8-)
