I'm rolling my eyes at the public criticism of Junior Alvarado. Seems like something you don't air out publicly nor is he going to find a far better improvement in a jockey.

Totally classless. Heaven forbid your jockey rides to win the race... and the horse was never going to be at his best going 10f.Cigarillo wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 7:49 pm https://www.horseracingnation.com/news/ ... mpaign_123

Man I wish my biggest problem was my horse finishing 3rd instead of 2nd behind a runaway winner in a $12,000,000 race. When the horse that finished 2nd was last year's winner of said race. It seems like small time connections only have a warm and fuzzy story for a couple of races before they eventually have a less than popular hot take.
Which reminds me, Rick Dawson is still complaining on Facebook about Hot Rod Charlie's toe grabs.

Oh man, that’s ugly……I kind of hope Alvarado refused the mount anyway if he is still retained. I would never ride for that trainer again.Tessablue wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 8:28 pmTotally classless. The worst thing is that Fincher tripled down on his shittyness. First he rips the ride, then he says he’s not sure if Junior will retain the mount, then he repeated that he should have been second….And he called Junior “the rider”…can’t even name him

I do a facebook creep every couple of months to see what is going on, last I saw they just did stem cell therapy. Im all for sound, happy horses, but all of this effort, time, and money to get a half decent racehorse back to run maybe run midfield in an 2025 allowance race before being officially retired is just wild. The horse is sound enough to be a lawn ornament or cover a couple dozen mares in a regional program, let’s just call it a day.
And he for real is still mad about the toe grabs thing.

It's all very silly and you're supposed to show some decency to the guy who won you eleven million dollars and it's always disappointing when feel-good connections let you down, but I'm choosing to direct my outrage towards this:Cigarillo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 9:50 am https://www.horseracingnation.com/news/ ... scador_123
Yeah yeah yeah
I've seen this in multiple articles since the race, and I'm just... what?? It's objectively completely untrue. Are the authors of these articles all under the age of 15 somehow?Laurel River dominated a star-studded international field by 8 1/2 lengths, the largest margin since the Dubai World Cup’s inception in 1996.

That's "journalism" in 2024 lol. I can understand overlooking a 1/2 length but Well Armed won by 14!Tessablue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 10:23 amIt's all very silly and you're supposed to show some decency to the guy who won you eleven million dollars and it's always disappointing when feel-good connections let you down, but I'm choosing to direct my outrage towards this:Cigarillo wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 9:50 am https://www.horseracingnation.com/news/ ... scador_123

In the Ben Ali, Smile Happy was entered as a new gelding. From a pre-race interview, McPeek said that if the gelding didn't help the hard-to-load-but-talented son of Runhappy perform better, they would have to retire him.
He loaded like a lamb....but then ran third from last, far from the front runners. Just had NOTHING in the stretch. You could almost see the thought balloon over his head: "You cut off my nuts. Why should i run for you?"
Will we soon see that retirement announcement from his connections?
