Love those Bernardini mares - what a great cross with Nyquist and his own sire

That was a good race. I like him a lot for the Derby.

Deterministic almost certainly won't run, Endlessly might not, and horses always drop out. Very likely he'll get into the race. Looks like another pace presence.

Yes someone will most definitely. On a side note, I'd love it if the field was cut down to 15 max, but what do I know?

Guess it's back to the drawing board for Hades. That looked too bad to be true today.

I watched him walk in to the saddling area before the Florida Derby and tossed him from my bet even though I was rooting for him, because he looked very ribby, like he had lost weight since last race. I was shocked they did this to him after his Florida Derby performance - he ran even poorer, it they'd of rested him he may still have made it in on points but now I am worried for him and can no longer stand his connections.

I agree about the connections.

I think he was kind of thin/narrow looking in the Holy Bull.

Maybe the Holy Bull was his ceiling?

That's so sad he won't get a chance to see how Resilience does.. He was my pick in a few contests for the Wood.
I really loved Life Is Sweet and they always picked good trainers like Mott and Shirreffs for their horses. Unfortunately Sweet Catomine ran during Winning Colors time and Life is Sweet during Zenyatta's time and that made their job a lot harder.

Hope Resilience makes him proud.

Its terribly sad he died because the story around Resilience is very good. Marty Wygod gifted the horse to his daughter and Ric Waldman, the longtime stallion manager at Overbrook. They had met because of the Wygods breeding mares to Storm Cat. I do have to say, idk who you are thinking of because Sweet Catomine was racing just a few years before Life Is Sweet, certainly not in 1988. She never raced after the SA Derby where she finished 5th. But had won 5 of 7 starts.
