I have seen riders do that elsewhere when a fellow jockey is lost.
All jockeys wear black ribbons today.
Also, in order to express their condolence, they are flying flags at half‐mast.

So many to root for! This is a good year. :D

Let's go Jantar Mantar, Meisho Tabaru and Regaleira.

I also like Sunrise Zipangu and Cosmo Kuranda.

Can't be often that a colt and filly with essentially the exact same breeding are in the same race. Urban Chic and Regaleira both being sired by Suave Richard and out of the full-sisters Edgy Style and Roca.

I especially like Meisho Tabaru (by Gold Ship!!), Regaleira (the only filly) and Mr G T (ridden by Yusuke Fujioka, Kota Fujioka's elder brother) here.
I think that Justin Milano, Shin Emperor and Jantar Mantar will run well, too.

Well it was about time Kizuna get a Classic winner :P

I hope Jantar Mantar goes the NHK Mile route. He's great maybe just not a distance horse.

Even if they didn't win I think its still quite an accomplishment for their granddam Land's Edge. Another of her daughters, Bloukrans, produced the Oka Sho winner Stellenbosch. For a broodmare to have 3 daughters produce foals good enough to make the fields for the Oka Sho and Satsuki Sho the same year, that is pretty special.

Any idea why Sixpence didn't run? Is it because Lemaire couldn't ride him?

Lame after his last race and at the farm. Hoping to point to the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby)

@HorseRacing_JPN
Winning jockey interview Satsuki Sho(G1)
Jockey: Keita Tosaki (Justin Milano)

“Going into the race, I was told the horse was in really good condition. (The late jockey) Kota Fujioka had ridden him for consecutive weeks heading into this race, and he gave me very detailed information of the horse when we met at Hanshin last week. The difference between the top two finishers today (neck), I think Kota was watching from above and pushed my back in the final stretches of the race. I’m just grateful for the win today.”

Was hoping for a better effort from Shin Emperor but still an exciting race nonetheless. Very nice of the winning jock Tosaki to pay tribute to Fujioka too.

Also appreciate your pedigree notes, Flanders.

I was really impressed with how Regaleira walked in the paddock and she finished close, so. But happy for Justin Milano too! Looking forward to this classics season!!!

Anybody know anything about a "triple--trifecta--wager"

Santa Anita is trying to start it up, three races and you need to hit the trifecta in each leg.

Apparently it's already in use elsewhere around the world?

thanks.
I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.
