I guess he evidently eviscerated himself on the rail according to poster who was there 😩 I can’t find the Twitter post where this was mentioned sorry. These poor babies should not be pushed so hard.
Hip 559- a colt by Frosted o/o Saintly Sister (Saint Liam). May he rest in peace, it was a violent fall. Does anyone know what happened to the jockey?

I really am not a huge fan of breezes, especially with such inexperienced babies, the colt really seemed to be unsure of himself.

That said, screw that PETA camera guy for crowding the veterinary staff attending to the colt. They were trying to give the colt a peaceful end to his agony and he was hovering over them, causing more stress to a horrible situation.

It’s one thing to gallop them, but these 1- or 2-furlong blow-outs are disgusting. I’ve always hated 2-year-old sales.

Agreed. If it was just galloping then so they can see their stride, I would be fine with them. These babies are getting whipped down the lane and pushed to go as fast as they can. Some of them aren't even really 2 yet.

Surprised ( maybe not) that there was no mention of this on any of the racing sites including Paulick. Needs to be a push towards just gallops no works of these very young horses.

I'm also in agreement these should just be gallop shows and not whipped into these crazy fast breezes.
I unfortunately did see that video, and the colt was clearly just not mentally up for that. And to be honest, I'm not even really sure what happened to him to require his being put down. He jumped/flung himself over/through the rails and of course no one said what happened to him. Such a shame. He was already named Frosten

PETA doesn't care about animals. Maybe they cared about animals when they first started but that went away fast and its just a cult now. Their founder/President is insane. I watched a video about them recently and I knew they were bad. I knew a lot of the stories but there were worse ones. The stories that they shared were repulsive, disgusting and worse, and I cried hearing the stories they told. They'd rather all animals are dead than alive because if they are dead then there isn't a chance they will suffer.

I did not have Caracaro being the sire of the first day’s session topper on my bingo card.

Word is that this is an incredibly stacked sale with tons of hugely promising babies

An HAP just sold for $185,000 to the agent for Starlight Racing, so probably will go to Pletcher. Great price for a really pretty filly.

There’s a couple later in the sale, particularly the colt out of Dazzle, that is supposed to be the goods.

Looks like this will be an exceptional crop of freshman sires

Quite a cutie, hip 1188 by McKinzie o/o Enamored (Curlin), with blue eyes, chromey as ever and a half black-half white tail. $350k to Seth Morris for Hit the bid racing.

The tail is cute, but the front legs look like the sire is Into Mischief, not McKinzie. :?

This beautiful HAP colt sold for $260,000

He had a lot of buzz for his looks and work, but I think his sire hurt him - and today apparently was a weird day
