Mothill didn’t survive the fall “ In touch with leaders, towards rear 3rd, bad mistake and fell heavily 5th, fatally injured”Danniwolfe wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 12:29 pm A horse just went down at Plumpton 7 I think it was monthill?

The 12 Deposition went down in a somersault, head over heels, in the Wood.

From my view in stands when Deposition went down at top of stretch in Wood Memorial he stayed down in sternal recumbency first then fell over to his side. Never made attempt to rise. Unsure if issue was a catastrophic injury or something more cardiac or other related health issue. He then rose on his own power and walked into Equine Ambulance. Jock appeared OK.

A fall like that could knock anyone half senseless. The horse may have been trying to figure out whether he was OK to stand or not.

Update from Dave Grening. Deposition will spend the night at the Ruffian clinic for observation to check for concussion. https://x.com/drfgrening/status/1776721 ... 41428?s=46

A Frosted colt just ran into the fence and fell at the OBS 2yo in training sales. The announcer said they had a horse and rider down, OBS posted a message that said these videos are private, then they took the link for the OBS sale off of Bloodhorse.
Edited to add: everything is back up now. Hopefully horse and rider are both ok.

Frosten is confirmed dead. Apparently the rider was hurt. Technically, he wasn’t even 2 yet, with his biological birthday being in May. (I know technically TBs have Jan 1 as a bday, but biologically he was still 1). So sad.

February Son (Mizzen Mast) went down on the backstretch in the 5th at Keeneland, a 1-mile Allowance on the grass. He was in tight and may have clipped heels, went down and slid into the inner rail, busting it open.
Fandrool has given an update on the rider (off to the hospital for examination), but not on the horse yet.

There’s a post on Twitter stating he was euthanized. That is so sad. I love the grey Mizzen Mast babies.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 4:05 pm February Son (Mizzen Mast) went down on the backstretch in the 5th at Keeneland, a 1-mile Allowance on the grass. 2 horses fell at Laurel race 4. They announced right away there would be jockey changes, the jockeys involved were JG Torrealba and Joam Toledo. No updates on horses or riders that I have heard.
Edited to add- both horses were up and walked off, both jockeys were sent to the hospital.

Bad wreck in the gate at AQU R7. Ribbons And Medals, report on X was that he and the rider were up and standing but if no one was injured in that chaos, it's a miracle.
