Maybe I am making this up, but it feels like a big chunk of the Fipkes in the last few years have been by Speightstown. Or are a descendant of some kind. Wonder who will be the next apple of his eye now that we've lost Speightstown.

I just wonder sometimes if Fipke does this naming thing totally on purpose just to get a laugh over watching everybody go bananas over the names he chooses! It's just hard to believe that someone who made a few billion dollars in the diamond business could possibly be this crazy! Great wealth does sometimes breed eccentricity (or maybe vice versa), but he’s just getting so nuts with this stuff that it makes me think it might be just a con.

No you are correct, he has used Speightstown a lot. Last year he did send quite a few of his mares to Title Ready, including Lemons Forever. Maybe he'll support his own stallions for a bit since he does have quite a few newer stallions at stud and some older ones?

Dallas Stewart said that, about why he names them that way. And I was told that it was his office person/secretary who actually submits them. I don't know how much input he has, but some of the names are just absurdly bad.
