Really shows how successful Justify is when just a chance to breed to him is used as an incentive to get mares for Coolmore’s other studs. Did anyone ever win the Ferrari?bare it all wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 8:08 pm Interesting idea by Coolmore. Yes. The Ferrari was given to the first winner sired by Justify in one of the races in the incentive, as it was linked to specific races. Tom Magnier won it but since he didn't feel right giving it to himself, he gave it to his trainer, Annabel Neasham.Eohippus wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 6:14 pmReally shows how successful Justify is when just a chance to breed to him is used as an incentive to get mares for Coolmore’s other studs. It'll more likely be whoever didn't cover over 100+ mares last year.Akitaperson wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 5:10 pmWondering the same. Spendthrift usually kicks the same number of stallions as the new ones they aquire.

It'll be multiple but its way to early to say, its most likely going to be ones that have foals of racing age. At this point, Coal Front is by far the front runner. But if the other 4 that have first crop 3yos don't pop off with multiple GSWs, buyers will abandon them come yearling sales time and they'll be on the way too. It doesn't matter if they finished 1st-4th on the Freshman sire list in 2023. There have been numerous Leading Freshman Sires that have been sold on.
Can't judge their 2024 Freshman sires as they haven't had foals to race yet. But they are Authentic, Thousand Words and Vekoma.
Hell it could honestly be Cross Traffic. While he has sired some nice horses he just hasn't caught on. He only got 84 mares last year at a lower fee. Maybe he'll get more this year.

From the Racing Post Bloodstock newsletter:
Nerds assemble! Weatherbys has published the 2023 Fact Book, which features comprehensive statistics on foals, mares and stallions based in Britain and Ireland in the past 12 months, as well as import and export figures for the two countries in the same time frame.
For the most committed bloodstock geeks, there is even information on foal colours, gestation ranges and the locations of breeders and mares.

More info has been released about Laoban. I just... This poor horse, he was like a living pincushion for 6 months.

And I think the insurance company shouldn't have to pay out on the case.
