I've found it easier to tear up tickets at 8/1 instead of 8/5.

So what would happen if the purse were a paltry $1m? Would the field be 20% the expected quality?

Are there any other trainers that this rule applies to other than the obvious?Curtis wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 9:59 pmAre there folks on here looking to nominate a horse and if so did they not know this?brunanas wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 4:40 pm Early Noms For Triple Crown Open; Horses Under Suspended Trainers Must Be Transferred By Jan. 29

Is it a rule set in stone for future years?
I dunno, but a win in the Santa Anita Derby plus a win in the Preakness and a favorite's shot at the Belmont in Saratoga sounds like a nice resume with most of year left, I'd certainly be tempted to go that route.
