I'm not sure why someone named a filly 'Lucifer."
That is not a female name.

Previous record had been set by Resistencia(JPN) in 2019.
Both Ascoli Piceno and Resistencia are by Daiwa Major(JPN) who retired from stud duty recently!!
And Resistencia became the first undefeated Hanshin Juvenile Fillies winner since Sodashi(JPN) in 2020.
She will be voted JRA's champion 2yo filly.

Forever Young Jumps to Lead In Japan Road to KY Derby

A dominant winner. I was wondering why his damside looked familiar and then I realized this is the same family that produced champion Zenno Rob Roy.

You also might remember them cause they either ran in the Breeders Cup or were a G1 winner in the US. Roamin Rachel won the 1994 Ballerina(G1) and a few G2/G3 races. Darling my Darling was a SW/MG1p, she ran in the 1999 BC Juvenile Fillies. Forever Darling was a G2SW who raced in the 2015 BC Juvenile fillies.Starine wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 8:48 pm Forever Young Jumps to Lead In Japan Road to KY Derby

He did it!!! Good boy!!!
I'm so happy that Palace Malice has a second G1 winner and has been given a chance in Japan.
Pretty much the whole family is here now
It's great because Japanese horse racing has been my favorite for a while

And Teruya Yoshida, owner of Shadai Farm, looked very happy today, too.
It was Teruya Yoshida who decided to send India Mantuana to Palace Malice after discussion with Naoya Yoshida.
India Mantura had been deposited to Naoya Yoshida's Winchester Farm in Kentucky at that time before moving to Japan.

I was really curious what went into that decision, since Palace Malice was not popular at the time. Amazing they were able to get a GSW mare for "only" $100,000, too.tachyon wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 11:02 am And Teruya Yoshida, owner of Shadai Farm, looked very happy today, too.
