What other Curlin sons stand in Japan? I'm drawing a blank.
TIA.

I hope Tachyon sees this and fields your question. I can't think of any others. Palace Malice's son Structor was the only Curlin male-line descendant in Japan who came to mind.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 1:45 am What other Curlin sons stand in Japan? I'm drawing a blank.

He doesn't have any. On the Japanese Studbook they have a search for Broodmares/Stallions by Sire and the only sons of Curlin it shows did not stand in Japan. Well until 2024 anyway.mariasmon wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 1:58 amI hope Tachyon sees this and fields your question. I can't think of any others. Palace Malice family is doing great in Japan. His half brothers are G1 and G2 winners.
And I think he was only getting about 5 mares a year in the US
I hope he can get a few good runners in Japan
His son Jantar Mantar is running in the G1 Futurity Stakes this week end. Good luck!!!!

I always hoped the son of Heart's Cry would stay in the states.

Good news is, Yoshida being sent back home so early in his career mean's he'll get a G1W soon

I was hoping Palace Malice would have had a more successful career as a stallion in the US, but I hope he flourishes with Darley in Japan. I will be rooting for Palace's kids over there!

I think its ridiculous that they gave up on him with only 2yos to race. He didn't break his maiden until April of his 3yo year and was a MG1SW at 4. They should expect that his foals will get better with age. Being now owned by Darley if his foals suddenly start winning G1s left and right, maybe they'd bring him back. They did stand Hard Spun and Street Sense in Japan for one season each.CoronadosQuest wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2023 4:16 pm I was hoping Palace Malice would have had a more successful career as a stallion in the US, but I hope he flourishes with Darley in Japan. With Palace Malice and Yoshida leaving I wonder when winstar will be shipping Always Dreaming off. Like Palace Malice he's barely getting any mares.
All honesty I'm happy Yoshida is leaving winstars roster

They also aren't kind to stallions who can't handle hugely high book numbers

Bloodhorse has in their article about Midnight Memories that Mastery is at Claiborne for 2024 for $7,500. I don't know what they are doing over there. They had in the Claiborne 2024 stud fees article that he went to Japan and he did.Mylute wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 12:36 pm BH has updated Snapper Sinclair's page with a 2024 fee of $5K, and is still listed at being at McMahon.
As recently as last week he still only had 2023 on that page.

A few breeders gave their insights on who they think is the best value of the incoming sires.

Tommy Wente says that Taiba could have probably stood for 50-60k and got a full book because he had 300 applications day 1 at 35k.

I'm sure his book size will be crazy.I don't know how many mares they took, but as soon as the word got out, it was crazy.
