Amante Bianco(JPN), 2021C. Henny Hughes(USA) x Yukichan(JPN) by Kurofune(USA), won the Catteleya Stakes 1600m dirt at Tokyo on Nov 25th 2023.
Catteleya Stakes is the first leg of the Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby series.
Will we see a white thoroughbred run at Churchill Downs next year?

That family continues to churn out runners. Where will he run next?

According to Netkeiba.com, his connections are considering the Saudi Derby as one option.

[Predicted Entry: Saudi Derby]

I think that Amante Bianco basically has three options:

option 1 = Saudi Derby / UAE Derby ---> Kentucky Derby
option 2 = Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby point races ---> Kentucky Derby
option 3 = stay in Japan to contest the inaugural ''Japan's Dirt Triple Crown''

I recently bought tickets to Derby 150. It will be my first time to go.

If a white thoroughbred made it to the race I would probably legitimately pass out.

I like Crown Pride(JPN) in this deep & wide-open field.
It's also interesting to see what the undefeated 3yo colt Seraphic Call(JPN) does.
I don't know if Lemon Pop(USA) can get this distance.

I noticed the pedigree of Notturno, with his dam being by UBS out of BC Sprint winner Desert Stormer. Kind of a 'wow' pedigree. He is a longshot, but I hope he runs well for his grand dam.

With being by Lemon Drop Kid over Giant's Causeway, I felt he should be able to get nine furlongs. ;)

Lemon Pop(USA) became the fourth horse in history to achieve the G1s February Stakes & Champions Cup (formerly Japan Cup Dirt) double.
JRA runs only two dirt G1 races a year.
Congratulations!!!

I’m not usually a chestnut fan unless they have some white markings but he is stunning.

I wonder if his connections will target the Dubai World Cup?. Or maybe the Saudi race, as iirc, that one is 9 furlongs rather than 10. Might fit Lemon Pop perfectly.

Go Lemon Pop! I love the Lemon Drop Kid offspring. I hope the connections give him another chance overseas, but maybe going 8-9 furlongs instead of six.
