Jamaica is really pretty. I was on the other side of the island from where this track is when I was there. Honestly though the locals are pretty aggressive trying to get you to buy tourist items, wasn't my favorite place I've been simply because of that. And riding in the transport from the airport to the hotel was next level terrifying because they drive like insane people.

my sister is in Jamaica right now. not to watch horse racing, but from the little she's seen of the country she's loved it. if anyone enjoys hearing about EVERYTHING that could go wrong going wrong though, i can share the story of how the trip was almost cancelled 5x in the same day

Caymanas (and Garrison Savannah in Barbados) are on my racetrack bucket list for sure. From what I've heard racing has grown in popularity there and they get nice-sized crowds on the weekends.
The short tails are probably to help deal with mud, since it rains an awful lot there.
