If I were thinking of buying/retiring a stallion, I know I would want a vet to take a close look at his 'swimmers' under a microscope before I made any decisions.

No
I read the reason many years ago but can't recall now. That's why they have infertility insurance....
Think about the fact also they'd have to pull a horse from training, and have them mount a mare or phantom to get that collection to test them. Most colts get those stud deals when they're still running and I'm sure most trainers wouldn't want to deal with colts who've now had a taste of something more appealing than racing LOL

If you want to insure him for fertility, you can't check his fertility first. Its the same as if you get in a car accident, and then decide to get insurance.

Mind Control moves to Irish Hill & Dutchess Views Stallions for 2024, which was part of the agreement between the farms that bought him.

They also stand Snapper Sinclair and Joevia but don't have them listed on their site yet.
McMahon of Saratoga released a stallion show date and 2024 stallion fees, however, Snapper Sinclair is not listed and is not on their site. Anyone know what happened to him? I was seriously considering him for a mare I have

So I can't confirm anything because this is purely from my research. He only covered 10 mares in his first year which seems exceptionally low. 2 of them went through the FT Saratoga Fall Mixed Sale and had to be bred to other stallions that stand at McMahon after failing to get in foal to him. That leads me to think fertility issue. I have linked to the 2 mares to make it easier, if you want to see:

https://www.fasigtipton.com/catalogs/2023/1017/65.pdf

https://www.fasigtipton.com/catalogs/2023/1017/200.pdf

Then I looked and they didn't have him registered as a NY stallion for 2023(on nybreds.com) when all their other stallions are. So perhaps they didn't bother once it was found he had fertility issues?

I was looking forward to Snapper babies, really disappointing if that doesn't work out for him.

I don't know where Joevia ended up, he doesn't have a RMB for 2023, or an export, etc. So he was probably moved before the 2023 season but he was listed at McMahon for 2023. He had stood 2022 there and was in New Jersey at Colonial Farms for his first year at stud in 2021.

-----

I saw Visitant has a 2024 stud fee after making a return to racing in September. I hope he stays retired this time.
