He is almost 31, so he probably isn't going to be in perfect condition. Also they used to ride their stallions, idk if they still do though. But it was pretty cool to see the stallions in western tack. They used to be one of the better farms for stallion condition because they did ride them. I just remember thinking that Bodemeister looked great in a western saddle.Justahorse wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 9:57 pmMaybe it's just a old man lump. If whatever it is, was causing him pain, I think they'd put him down. Surgery isn't an option for a horse his age and if he isn't in pain, why put him down? I mean those are really their only options.

My first assumption would be that it's just a really large fat deposit. Those usually don't cause problems unless they're in an inconvenient place (around the anus or mouth, for example). Elderly dogs get these around their stomachs a lot and boy can they look bad, but vets don't want to put them under the knife for obvious reasons.
If they know its cancerous, but he's not sick yet, they may have chosen to just let him "chill" until he does start to get sick.

From what I heard it was so they could control things better as after the breeders cup they expected a surge of people wanting to breed to him

Bloodhorse posted a video where they said Cody's Wish will be bred to around 150-160 mares.

Yeah I was just wondering if I had missed something. I don't keep up with foreign racing as much as I'd like. I thought at the time they'd have a hard time finding him and I hadn't seen or heard any updates since the story first broke.

He didn't start to get them until later. I saved this photo of him taken at Saratoga as a 4 yr old and he didn't have them yet.Flanders wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 2:45 am Mystic Guide's birdcatcher spots doing a pretty good imitation of the big dipper.
