Yeah I was hesitant about posting that because ooof that's one of the worst shoulders I've seen in a ThoroughbredRetrospectiv wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 7:04 pm Fresh unofficial pic of Flightline..... and I remain completely unimpressed by his looks even a year after his retirement

Flightline in flight was fabulous.
Flightline standing still is so homely, if he were walking past, you wouldn't look at him...except to note 'boy, that horse is plain ugly.'
Look at that belly! What are they feeding him...Twinkies?
And I'm not sure people can ignore those pinfire scars. They're painful to look at.

I thought Arrogate had very nice conformation, maybe not "pretty" but the parts were put together well. Compare the depth of his chest and angles of his shoulder and hip to Flightline's.Katewerk wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 12:29 amLike Arrogate.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 11:37 pm Flightline in flight was fabulous.

Thanks for the photo, Miss W. I was fairly sure that Arrogate was an attractive horse...except for that head of his.
His chest and shoulder were what you look for in a TB, imho.

No, I think Arrogate's chest and shoulder are still too bulky. Not as bulky as Flightline's, but not ideal. I love Flightline but good grief, what are they feeding him? Pig slop? (To be fair, is his shoulder actually that bulky or is there some shadow?)BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 09, 2023 5:25 am Thanks for the photo, Miss W. Elite Power, on the other hand, has what I think is an ideal shoulder.

Color filtering. He's bright and saturated on the first and more sepia on the second.

Color confusion aside, he does look better in the new photo. His neck crest has developed a teeny bit, so he no longer looks like a ewe-necked gelding.
