The Sir Michael Stoute-trained four-year-old pulled up lame after morning exercise and has been taken to the Newmarket Equine Hospital.
Bruce Raymond, racing manager to owner Saeed Suhail, said on Sunday: "He's got quite a bad injury and I'm just heading to the equine hospital now. He won't be running at York."

"As has been well recorded he fractured his off-fore leg for which he had to have 16 screws inserted. Everything seemed to be going well but he put so much pressure on his near fore when he stood on it that it was unsustainable. He was put down humanely at NEH where the surgeons have been outstanding."

So sad. Makes me worry more about Echo Zulu- things can be going well and then all of a sudden it changes.

Scary stuff at Doncaster in the Futurity (G1) as Battle Cry flipped over in the starting stall and wedged himself under the gate. The crew eventually got him out and he appeared to be okay.

Wow that was so fast and scary. The jockey had no shot of getting off.HB1994 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 10:06 am Scary stuff at Doncaster in the Futurity (G1) as Battle Cry flipped over in the starting stall and wedged himself under the gate. Pedigree note, the winner's grand dam, Gold Round, is a 1/2 to Goldikova and is a resident of Old Friends.

It's so dangerous when a horse flails around like that inside the gate, especially for the horses on each side. Getting kicked in the legs by the downed horse happens so easily.

Top jockey James Doyle will be leaving his post as number two jockey for Godolphin in 2024. He will join Wathnan racing, the new operation owned by Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim

What other horses come down from the Godolphin Arabian male lines that are available at stud today? Here and in Europe? Bal a Bali and Tourist? Is there any others?

Dream Ahead in the UK and he has a couple sons at stud in France(G1 Al Wukair and G2 Donjuan Triumphant). His best have been MG1SWs Dream of Dreams(who is a gelding) and Glass Slippers(who is a mare and won the BC Turf Sprint).Julky wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 4:13 am What other horses come down from the Godolphin Arabian male lines that are available at stud today? As far as I know in the US, its just Tiznow sons standing in regional markets that are left besides Bal A Bali and 1 other that I don't even know that counts. Tizamagican, Tourist, Bullsbay, Dynamic Impact, Home of the Brave, Informed, Slew's Tiznow, Sporting Chance, and Tour de Force. The other is really obscure, never raced, and though he is listed in the BH Stallion Register, he has never had a RMB submitted. His name is Valiant Pegaszusz, who is by an unraced obscure sire(Foreszt Tiger - only has 4 foals), by an obscure son of Intentionally(Szerbusz who was at least a Spw and sired 58 foals).

Tamarando (Bertrando) in CA
Elite Squadron (Officer) in IN
Closing Argument (Successful Appeal) in LA, plus his son Capital Account in CA who was listed in 2023 but doesn't have an RMB
Calculator (In Summation) in IN, another without an RMB this year
Brave Dave (Put It Back) in LA
The Daddy (Valid Expectations) in LA
A few Tiznow grandsons via Colonel John - Airoforce, Cocked and Loaded, Colonelsdarktemper. Tizway's been fairly popular in Turkey. Some odds and ends from Known Fact's line in Europe and Australia.
All told, not in quite as bad a shape as the Byerley Turk's line, who is entirely extinct in the US and whose hopes rest on Pearl's Secret, a couple small sires in France and one or two in, of all places, Turkey.

Does anyone care enough to try to keep those bloodlines alive?
