No offense but he just ran a killer race and broke a record, and even the thought of flying over here, with quarantine, etc. in a few days is kinda ........ absurd.

Aug of '22 or Aug of '23?
I reallly liked his Dubai Sheema Classic Group One race.
And thank you for the wonderful photo of Equinox!!
......one thing for sure, he does not have what they call a "kind eye". His eyes always struck me as somewhat odd like that?

I rarely get like this, but I am still GIDDY over Equinox's race. I have always said that you can't look at the Brisnet PPs where they rate the CLASS of the race.
When you see class you know that it's very much "what a horse thinks of themselves."
I meant to say that Equinox doesn't have a "kind eye" but he's not mean, (Halo was always described as mean) but Equinox, as a friend just wrote to me "he's just kindy classy/haughty. This race was so spectacular, not because of the world record at the distance. It was how he won it. And you could tell HE knew how superior he was to that field". they also pointed out that Lemaire was chuckling before the race, huge smiling, cuz he knew,, too. Everybody knew.
In many ways, it kinda put a damper on the BC races for me. I hope I can recuperate. I just don't expect to see anything quite like this at Santa Anita.
But it also brings it home how dumb we were to sell Sunday Silence, Halo's son (although I'm happy for Japan!) , and also how More Than Ready seems so under-utilized/underappreciated in U.S. racing in a lot of ways. Most people rarely talk about MTR except I have one friend who is ga ga over him so I get to know more about horses that have him in their pedigree.
Anyway, just late night confessions here. No need to agree or disagree. Just my feelings.

3 entire generations of only Japanese bred horses in that pedigree.
Hey, that photo where Lemaire and groom and horse are bowing to the Emperor after the win.......I couldn't help but notice, as part of the bow, eyes closed. THEN I also saw when I blew up the photo (and also viewed it on twitter/X, that Equinox is not only bowing too but .......his eye(s) are closed. Am I losing my mind ?..
..next thing ya know Equinox will be........talking. In human language. (I wouldn't put it past him!)

Racing Post (RPR) gave Equinox 134 for his Tenno Sho Autumn -- 2 pounds higher than his Dubai Sheema Classic.
https://www.racingpost.com/profile/hors ... uinox/form
It looks like Timeform maintained 135 in their global rankings.
(They already gave him 135 before the Tenno Sho Autumn.)

It remains to see if IFHA (The LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Rankings) raises his 129 rating in their new edition which will be released on Nov 9th.

I've never seen like this!Miss Woodford wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 12:31 am Not exactly sure where this goes but look at the line to see the pensioner Admire Japan appear at a pop-up store!

Is Admire Japan the first thoroughbred to walk on the red carpet??
He was very popular at the pop-up store in Midosuji, central avenue running north-south through the heart of Osaka.
Ten thousand people came to see him over two days!!!!!!!
