I had read that Mostahdaf was coming to the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita but, if he runs in the Champions Stakes on Oct. 21, it seems unlikely he would tackle such a quick turnaround. That means the BC Turf may have lost two runners (Mostahdaf, Westover) I was really looking forward to watching. :(

British Champions Day looks to have some stirring match-ups.

I'm a big fan of Mostahdaf but I am not at all surprised by this decision. I think his connections have acknowledged the horse is much more effective at 1-1/4 miles than 1-1/2. I'm guessing the condition of the turf will play a role in their decision as well.

Inspiral (Frankel) bags another G1 as she is an easy winner of the Sun Chariot at Newmarket under Frankie. It was his 500th win at the course.

1,000 gns winner Mawj makes her return to the racecourse at the week end in the Queen Elizabeth Cup at Keenland.

She is in very good form

Hope Lindy runs a nice race for Brendan Walsh.

Don't have a clue how strong the American runners are.

Frankie Dettori will not be retiring and will continue his career riding full time in the U S

He will be based at Santa Anita

Sounds like he wants to win KY Derby. Maybe he can do some TV commentating in the US as well when he is not riding.

I suspect Fandrool made Frankie a tempting offer when he was here. That tour around Hollywood with Brittany had the feel of an audition, to see how he did in a lengthy, unscripted outing on camera. He's pretty charming and well-spoken, so an analyst chair seems logical for when he DOES actually retire from riding.

🚨 BREAKING: Ace Impact, the electric winner of both the Prix du Jockey Club and the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, has been retired to stand at the Haras de Beaumont stud in Normandy.

Ace Impact Retired to Haras de Beaumont

Speaking to TDN at Tattersalls, Chehboub said, “When we established Haras de Beaumont the idea was to target exceptional future stallions prospects. Ace Impact has won the French Derby, he's won the Arc, he's unbeaten. As we all know, to race on for another year is taking a risk for the horse, and a lot of breeders want to use him. He's a true champion; there is a demand for him. For France it is fantastic news, and from day one that was part of the project.”

Love when this is the plan “from day one”, but they still pretended there was a chance he’d go to the Japan Cup. I mean, they had said for a while that he wouldn’t race on at 4 but why bother mentioning more races this year?

A true champion with 6 starts and two G1 wins, only one of those being against elders. Wouldve loved to see him take on some more competitive/international fields before calling him a true champion.

Agreed.
I hoped he would go the Japan Cup.
His perform in the Arc was something special.
But he will not be called a true champion.

Are there any other sons of Sea the Stars standing in Japan?
Having Kingmambo as a broodmare sire should please Japanese breeders. ;)
