Bricks and Mortar(USA) sired his first group winner, as his 2yo Gonbade Qabus(JPN) o/o Affilato(JPN)[Deep Impact(JPN) x Lady of Venice(FR)] won impressively the G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup 1600m turf at Tokyo beating heavy favorites!!!!
It's a huge win for the sire and a G1 race should be next for the unbeaten (2 for 2) colt.

I think I already said it some time ago but it would be great if Bricks And Mortar become their "next" Sunday Silencetachyon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 3:26 am Bricks and Mortar(USA) sired his first group winner, as his 2yo Gonbade Qabus(JPN) o/o Affilato(JPN)[Deep Impact(JPN) x Lady of Venice(FR)] won impressively the G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup 1600m turf at Tokyo beating heavy favorites!!!!

Omaha Beach sired the winner (Normandy Hero) of the 5th at Keeneland, a 6-furlong Open AOC for 2yos on the dirt. Normandy Hero is out of a Pioneerof the Nile mare, so I have to wonder if he might also like the green stuff.
Omaha Beach seems to be doing well as a sire, which contributes to War Front's legacy as a sire of sires.

BAM had a severe case of stringhalt that required surgery, which is why he was out for a year. I don't know if that would be considered a heritable soundness issue.
War of Will also had stringhalt but AFAIK never required time off for it.

Suave Richard(JPN)(Heart's Cry) sired his first grade stakes winner, as his 2yo filly Corazon Beat(JPN)[o/o Le Ciel d'Or(JPN) by Orfevre(JPN)] won the G2 Keio Hai Nisai Stakes 1400m turf at Tokyo under Takeshi Yokoyama on Nov 4th 2023.

Now Suave Richard is not only the leader in the First-Season Sires Ranking but in the 2yo Sires Ranking.
I'm sure that his popularity at stud will soar for the next season with a much-higher stud fee!!!
