Weird spot for my first post, but 0 Spun to Run was out most of breeding season this year. Not sure why he kept being advertised honestly. Regarding Hard Spun sons in general, the Silver State foals are almost all excellent. Real "wow" horses. Should be interesting to see at the sales.

Not sure how in the world Free Drop Billy is still here, unless there are just no buyers. Des Dempsey was warning people off him at the stallion shows back in 2021.

Dolphus is more or less just boarded at Darby Dan, his owner/breeder is keeping and racing most of his babies. He's a sentimental horse more than anything, and Darby Dan and the owner's farm are neighbors and otherwise VERY closely affiliated.

Mo Town bred 218 mares last year and should have similar numbers this year. He's very unlikely to leave, he's still super popular with breeders.

Jimmy Creed would do much better numbers with far better mares if he wasn't a literal nightmare to breed to. God forbid a mare wear the wrong perfume.

Lea is probably safe at Claiborne unless they get an offer elsewhere. Can never be certain though, as Orb was supposed to be pensioned. But Orb was also a walking liability, I still can't believe that the public was allowed near him!

I was not aware Orb had behavioral issues. He was/is one of my favorites regardless. Great name.

I saw Orb at the farm after it eas announced he was moving. I happened to see him there and asked to open his stall so i can take a pic. The groom opened it up for a couple of min and was quick to close.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Malibu Moon had some issues with behavior. I have no recollection of whee I read that, or if there were specifics cited. So, if that's not true, please somebody set me straight!

A small but notable breeder mentioned that they were offered a free season to him as FDB was going by. Des shook his head and said, "You don't want him." My eyebrows went into my hairline.

Hard to say. Most of the Malibu Moons are pretty similarly difficult IMO.

Down the grapevine. Last I heard he's fine. Considering how small of a book he was probably going to cover, it probably would have behooved the farm to just make a public announcement and save some face for when the Fact Book comes out . . .

The comment "You don't want him" is very intriguing regarding FDB. Obviously some people did.

I was really surprised. I've quite liked a lot of FDBs, and he's a gorgeous horse. If my math is right first foals were just yearlings too so it's not like they'd done anything but sell poorly yet. And he ended up breeding 44 mares in 2022 anyway. Just Spendthrift logic, I guess. I do wonder if there were plans to sell at that time that eventually fell through. Idk and I'm certainly not going to ask

I didn't keep eavesdropping as the stallion I'd requested, Thousand Words, had come out. I'd bought a mare who happened to be in foal to him and wasn't super happy about it, but was much more pleased seeing the horse in person. The colt that I got was super.

Cloud computing is absent from the spendthrift roster. And it was just mentioned in the stallion thread Gormley has apparently moved to Louisiana

Spendthrift is bound to get rid of someone, I'm just not sure who cause they have 4 stallions making strong arguments for pick me. Cloud Computing, Free Drop Billy, Gormley and Mor Spirit.
you got all of them right. can you predict a lottery ticket for me?

hahaha I wish. Picking stallions that are going to be moved is a lot easier.

With whoever bought them.

Gormley and Unified went to Louisiana.
Mor Spirit went to Indiana.
Free Drop Billy went to Iowa.
Cloud Computing is a ?
Honor Code went to Japan.
Tale of Verve went to Uruguay (that was before I started this thread)

Those are the only ones I think moved from Kentucky so far. There are always a lot of moves after the Keeneland September sale through the Breeders Cup.

For a horse with such an abbreviated racing career, I remember there was a lot of hype and support for him when he went to stud. Just didn't pan out at all.

Another check for me. The only one I missed so far was Honor Code cause I really didn't they Lane's End was going to sell him, he fit the criteria though.
