if they do, Mor Spirit and Cloud Computing should start packing their bags asap.Flanders wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 10:36 pmSo Zedan keeps horses in training at 4 to go for the Saudi Cup. Arabian Lion ended up being a sprinter, so I guess he just gets retired. But even if he wasn't owned by Zedan he would have probably still been retired. Commercial pedigree + able to win G1 at 3 = time to cash outbrunanas wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 9:21 pm Taiba, Zandon, Arabian Lion to Spendthrift Farm in 2024

I imagine the floodgates of retirements/standing for 2024 announcements are coming. Plus once Keeneland September is over more stallions will be moved out. I'm not sure of the size of Spendthrift's stallion barn(s) but they moved out Free Drop Billy and now Taiba is there. Do they need to move on 2 more? I know back in the 80s when they were under different ownership, they stood an insane amount of stallions. But so did Gainesway and there stallion roster is alot smaller now. Pulling out the 1986 BH Stallion Directory, Spendthrift had 40 stallions and Gainesway had 41.
i like plushies. a lot.

Hearing from folks who were at the farm this weekend that Mor Spirit is already gone.brunanas wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:02 amif they do, Mor Spirit and Cloud Computing should start packing their bags asap.Flanders wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 10:36 pmSo Zedan keeps horses in training at 4 to go for the Saudi Cup. I'm sorry to see Mor Spirit being relegated to a small regional market. He's a gorgeous horse, a grandson of Giant's Causeway, and his Met Mile win was stunning. I really hoped he would do well at stud.

Hey at least they have Mitole, also by Eskendreya. He has already done more in 1 crop than Mor Spirit did in 2 because Mitole got a GSW.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 4:40 pm I'm sorry to see Mor Spirit being relegated to a small regional market. Is it crazy though?
Cyberknife stood for 30k, he won 2 G1s
Early Voting stood for 20k, he won 1 G1
Taiba won 3 G1s. So it makes sense to me he'd stand for more. Now do I think the other 2 are standing for to much? Yes but market dictates price and they have a HOT commercial sire.

West Virginia Derby winner Colonelsdarktemper (Colonel John) has moved to stand at Whispering Oaks in Louisiana for 2024.
He apparently stood this year in Texas.
Had no idea! I liked him a lot.

I thought of one they could get. Storm The Court, he was champion 2yo. He doesn't have a commercial pedigree, hence why he is still running at age 6. He isn't doing anything on the track, he hasn't finished in the top 3 since December 2020. And hasn't won a race since the BC Juvenile in 2019.Miss Woodford wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 4:58 pmAn obvious one would be Zenyatta now that her broodmare career is over but I'm not sure even KHP wants to deal with her rabid fans scrutinizing every aspect of her care lol.Missbeholder wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 4:39 pmLove the idea of Tiznow going to KHP! I'm kind of surprised that they haven't gone after him (maybe they have). I remember that they actively pursued Kona Gold, bucking a lot of resistance from owner Bruce Headley, who didn't want to part with him. He finally relented, but Kona Gold tragically died just a short time after arriving at the park.
Anyway, I think Tiznow would be a fabulous "get" for them! He was, and still is, a hugely popular horse, and would be a major public draw for them! I just don't think Winstar is going to be letting him go, though.

Airoforce and uncle Vinny also moved from Texas. They are now in Oklahoma at Caines stallion Station

Audible got his first SW, with Chi Chi, a 1/2 sister to G2SW/G1p Simplification.

Think Saudi Crown may have bought AD some time, though people will still sell stallions despite decent numbers.RachelAlexandra24 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 4:04 pm I wouldn't be surprised if WinStar sold Always Dreaming or Paynter. I'm honestly surprised they've kept Paynter as long as they have.

I think he goes as soon as they get an offer(because its Winstar). He hasn't done enough as a stallion to warrant a spot at a Kentucky farm. Even if Saudi Crown would go on to win the Classic, my opinion will remain the same. Simply because AD really hasn't sired anything else. He doesn't even have any other stakes horses this year. Last year he had a winner of an Ohio-bred stakes(who has a 2023 death report) and a 2nd place finisher in a NY-bred stakes.
He was popular with breeders his first year, not quite as much since 2nd year but he still got a decent amount of mares. But buyers never liked his yearlings. Normally first yearlings sell okay cause the verdict isn't out yet on how a stallion is going to do but his never did. I don't know if he was looked down on because his sire was sold on (Bodemeister was sold the fall of 2019, AD's first year at stud) or if his yearlings just looked bad? I mean it didn't stop breeders from using him his 2nd and even 3rd year.
