Yes. Very impressive. So funny how some were questioning breeding Beholder to Bolt and yet here is the best offspring by far. Gate to Paradise ran well for third after changing course mid-stretch and going very wide- once clear she closed willingly and made up good ground in the stretch- needs longer.

Yeah, with the reference to her ears pricked and twitching with Mike Smith up I actually was getting some Zenyatta vibes (I'm sure Beholder won't hold that against me lol).

I'm sure Mike Smith enjoyed the view! He seemed at a loss for words in the post race interview (or maybe just can't believe what a lucky jockey he is at 58).Squeaky wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 9:23 pmShe is not a large horse but does have big ears!

It wasn't just people on here. Even Spendthrift didn't really want to breed her to Bolt but B. Wayne Hughes insisted. They said they tried to talk him out of his decision but he would not change his mind. I read that in an article maybe after her debut.Squeaky wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 9:15 pmYes. Very impressive. Bolt D’Oro was so mismanaged as a racehorse it unfairly clouded people’s opinion of his potential as a stallion. He really is getting some runners, as long as they stay away from Mick Ruis.Flanders wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2023 9:42 pmIt wasn't just people on here. I know that I personally questioned the breeding because Beholder's dam(Leslie's Lady) had been bred to Bolt d'Oro's sire(MDO) and the resultant colt had poor conformation and never was named or raced. I know that can happen with any breeding because of DNA but it was surprising to me at the time.Curtis wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 11:43 amBolt D’Oro was so mismanaged as a racehorse it unfairly clouded people’s opinion of his potential as a stallion. AMERICAN RASCAL (o/o Lady Aurelia) looks extremely tiny... or the guy leading him is a giant.

The guy leading him does look really big. The other grooms are wearing the numbered vests for their horse's post position, but not purple-shirt dude. Possible he couldn't get the vest on.
