I wouldn't be surprised if WinStar sold Always Dreaming or Paynter. I'm honestly surprised they've kept Paynter as long as they have.

Thank you for sharing these pics of Honor Code! I know he will receive great care in Japan.

You are welcome, CQ! :D
Umaichi.com says that Honor Code is likely to attract a lot of attention as a stallion with a high level of pedigree background, race record and stud record, especially as the Triple Crown Races on Dirt will be in full swing from 2024 in Japan.
And I agree with Umaichi's view!!!

I really liked him when he was racing and had hoped he would do better as a sire in the US. But hopefully he crosses well with the mares in Japan.

I hope so since he was poorly supported here..understandably, but worse than I expected. Honor Code also is a pretty good turf sire, so he might do decently on turf there as well. His Ohana Honor (distinguished by a gorgeous silvery tail) has won two in a row, today on turf ...very impressively. He’s in good hands with Shug - it would be nice if he could develop into a good horse for HC.

He was such a sweet boy when I saw him at the KHP last year.

It’s been a rough few months for the KHP folks. My heart goes out to them.

I read something on a Facebook post from someone who has supposedly been a regular visitor to the KHP for 30 years. The poster said that the KHP Hall Of Champions has NO thoroughbreds there anymore........or quarter horses or saddlebreds or show jumpers. He/she said they only have standardbreds there anymore.

Is that true? Were Funny Cide and now Point Given the last of the thoroughbreds residing in the Hall Of Champions? I find that hard to believe, but I thought this was the place to go to check it out! Thanks in advance!

They were the only TBs there when I visited last November.

Yes its true. They just lost Funny Cide 2 months ago. Da Hoss and Go For Gin died last year.

Sounds like they'll be in the market for a couple new ones soon, then.

I know Old Friends is the fashionable choice as of late, but they have so many horses it’s hard to not imagine it’s getting a little crowded. Would love a big owner to throw KHP a bone.

They only take champions and/or Kentucky Derby winners though, don't they? I mean historically that is all they have had. And it used to just be geldings until Cigar was infertile, then they had Alysheba for a short time, Go For Gin, and Point Given as pensioned stallions.

Channel Maker? He is 9, a champion and a gelding.
