Most of the euro pundits had been joking since Ascot that we wouldn't see him race again, guess they were right. Have a hard time recalling a big time European horse that had so many last minute withdrawals from major races.
It was confirmed earlier this week that Desert Crown has indeed been retired. He did come out of his surgery alright, though.
Shockingly, his connections are still thinking about racing him again. I hope somebody has an attack of common sense and does the right thing.

“He's still being box-rested at the hospital and will be for a few more weeks at least. He certainly won't be running again this year, but beyond that we'll have to see. He's a lot brighter now than he was when the injury first happened and he's doing as well as can be expected."

Never heard of Ripon before.

Doom (love the name!) is by Dubawi o/o BC winner Dank.

Ripon is a lovely little racecourse its known as Yorkshire's garden racecourse.

A lot of horses don't act on the track with its undulations

So bizarre. Bruce Raymond said on Nick Luck’s podcast last week that the horse wouldnt race again. But if the constant jockey debacle with the owner has proved anything, it’s that Saeed Suhail likes to change his mind… a lot

One time Derby favourite for the late Queen, Reach for the Moon, has left the yard of John Gosden and is being retrained for a career over fences with Jamie Snowden

No talk of the Irish Champion?

Do you fancy Auguste Rodin, King of Steel or Nashwa?

The only thing that would surprise me is if Point Lonsdale won. I think the rest all have a live shot, even Sprewell. I’d like to see King of Steel win but could see Luxembourg repeat.

It's a nice, live field for sure. I think one of the sophomores takes it.

It's a shame that such big names as Ace Impact, Mostahdaf and Hukum bypass the Irish Champion this year.
But it must be a good opportunity for the sophomores to rebound.

Doubt Auguste Rodin gets firm going for the Arc. But I'd give him a huge chance in the BC Turf at Santa Anita, which was mentioned as a possibility.

Article today said Auguste Rodin most likely to the Breeders Cup and Luxembourg to the Arc, as long as its not heavy going. So he might not go either cause it feels like recently its always heavy going.

Then in related only because Coolmore.

Henry Longfellow, 2yoc (Dubawi - Minding, by Galileo) remained unbeaten winning the G1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes at the Curragh.

Yeah, Longchamp's track's ambulance crew usually needs an air boat to follow the field over that swamp. :P

Warm Heart who won the Prix Vermeille(G1) on Sept. 10th at Longchamp will be coming to the BC F/M Turf over a start in the Arc.

Personally I was most impressed by the G2 Prix Niel winner Fantastic Moon(GER) on the Arc trial day at Longchamp.
I like German horses and jockey Rene Piechulek has another Arc contender on his hands! 8-)
But his connections are not yet decided if he goes the Arc and considering the BC Turf and/or the Japan Cup.
The Sea the Moon 3yo colt is believed to show his best on the firm going, too.
