Thank you!!
That's definitely great news, Tessablue!!!! :D
I remember A Shin Forward(USA), G1 winner & stallion in Japan, becoming hot topics in this (old) forum in several occasions, as (If I'm not wrong) his ex-owner was a forum member.
I read somewhere that he retired to Old Friends recently.
It will be great if you'll post picks of his!!

Here below is a link to see picks of his that were taken before he left Japan.

-- from Asian Racing Report

''Liberty Island heads Nakauchida’s autumn team''

-- The Triple Tiara is the focus for the outstanding filly, and while no decision has yet been made about the Japan Cup, the thought of a showdown with Equinox is tantalising.--

https://asianracingreport.com/liberty-i ... tumn-team/

Trainer Nakauchida's comments are especially interesting read in this article.
That shows how powerful and influential Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm are for the Japanese racing and the sport right now....
“I think this is what everyone wants to see really and I think it would be good for the sport,” Nakauchida said. “Equinox is a proven world class horse: he showed that in Dubai and he showed it again in the Takarazuka Kinen. I’m sure racing fans and people in the racing industry want to see the best three-year-old filly against the best horse in the world, so that might happen in the Japan Cup.”

But ‘might’ is the key word: Nakauchida was particular in stressing that no decision has been made yet on Liberty Island’s targets beyond the Shuka Sho.

“We cannot say at this moment that she is going to the Japan Cup,” he continued. “I haven’t spoken to Northern Farm about that, so they haven’t given me the green light to go to the Japan Cup yet: like the situation with the Derby, Northern Farm has a lot of strong colts with stallion potential, so that has to be considered as well. The only thing I can say is that she is going to the Shuka Sho to try and get the Triple Tiara.”

That’s a big shame. :(
So the son of Mind Your Biscuits won't run in the BC Classic, either.
We hope he will get well soon.

Arrogate(USA) has sired only one winner so far on turf with Shailene(USA) in Japan.
But it's going to be interesting to see what Halladay's 1/2 sister Sokyu(JPN) does in her debut on turf tomorrow.

By the way, Shailene (4x winner) has been retired from racing to become a broodmare (probably) at Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm.

If Equinox is running in the Tenno Sho Autumn on Oct. 29, and then the Japan Cup on Nov. 26, that would mean that we won't get to see him at Santa Anita for the BC on Nov. 3-4. It would have been fun to see Equinox throw down with Auguste Rodin.
o well.

That's an interesting question, Gemini! :D
Is Equinox a Ghostzapper type? (haha, I'm just kidding!!)

I love those top horses who race frequently.
And I basically agree with the opinion that a ''GREAT CHAMPION'' has to (or desirably) run considerable number of races in his/her career.
Equinox has been lightly raced.
But I'm not unhappy with his campaign yet, because he has been running most of the big G1 races a Japanese champion has to run.
Also he had some reasons why he didn't race frequently.
At 3, he had a slight injury after the Tokyo Yushun.
At 4 (this year), he made a trip to Dubai (which sometimes takes a lot of toll).

Now, if he kicks off his autumn campaign in the Tenno Sho Autumn, one may expect him to run another two races (maybe the Japan Cup and the Arima Kinen) before the year end, which would be a dream come true for racing goers in Japan.
Those older horses who achieve the triple in the three middle-distance G1s (known as the Older Horse Autumn Triple) will get the maximum respect here.
It won't be easy to achieve this at all, as his Japanese rivals could actually be much stronger than thought.
But I hope that he will try it for the real GREATNESS. ;)
