HARDSPUN REASON won race #8 at Laurel Park today. Looks like adding blinkers helped. His record is now 7-2-0-2.

Well, dang, HARD SPUN has seconditis in two big 3yo races this year, despite two valiant performances. TWO PHIL's in the Kentucky Derby and now ELYSIAN FIELD runs second in the King's Plate at Woodbine today. Brave run for her. Was coming at the leader and got cut off by him and had to go around. Just enough of a take up to lose too much ground to make up in the short distance remaining, but she was closing on him as they hit the wire.

ALDER won his official debut by over 6 lengths in race #7 at Ellis Park yesterday. (He was declared a non-starter in what would have been his first start, so this was it.)

If he was a non-starter in July and this was his first race that counted, why do they list him as having 2 starts in his stats?

TWO WORDS won race #6 at Horseshoe Indianapolis today. Her record is now 8-1-1-1. They finally wised up and put her on turf in her last race, resulting in first and second place finishes, her best two results so far.

MISS ANTIETAM won race #4 at Timonium today. Her record is now 8-1-0-0.
Ridiculous objection against her from the rider of the #2 horse going into the first turn. The horses weren't anywhere near each other at that point of the race. Stewards rejected it. Total bogus claim. That other jockey ought to be fined for wasting the stewards' time.

STORMING CHROME won race #6 at Pimlico today by 10 lengths. His first win in 9 tries. New connections did something right. Race was off the turf. Maybe that, though it hadn't mattered in the past. His record is now 9-1-1-2
