Interesting. Ward has has no problem campaigning sprinters on either surface, and has a good record of doing so for Stonestreet. I know Asmussen is pretty much their #1 trainer, but this is a curious move. Wonder if Stonestreet has any horses still in training with Ward.

They do. Fandom is the the Skidmore on the 18th, Love Reigns was in the Galway and Ocean Mermaid was in a Maiden, both on the 12th.

Thanks for the info: I was not aware she had raced three times this year (checked out info at Equibase)
she had one third place finish and the rest were out of the money I guess.

The upcoming 10th at Saratoga, a state-bred MSW for 3yo+up, has Prince of Truth (Into Mischief x La Verdad) in as #12. It was supposed to be on the Inner Turf, but I believe it's been taken off...there are lots of scratches.

She didn't run three times this year. She ran once in March. The other two were in November on Breeders Cup Day last year and in December.

Three Rivers, 3yo f (American Pharoah - Flying Spur, by Giant's Causeway) took her record to 2 wins in 2 starts when winning an Allowance at Saratoga on August 16th. Flying Spur ran 3rd in the 2009 Kentucky Oaks(G1) and is a daughter of MG1SW Lakeway(dam of SW Sluice who is the dam of G1 Mushka). Owner breeder Mike Rutherford bought Lakeway's dam, Milliardaire(a full sister to G1 Saratoga Six), as a yearling at the 1985 Fasig Tipton Saratoga sale for $2.7m.

I really liked Lakeway, she was a top notch filly. She wasn't quite as good when she came back from her injury at age 4 but she was still consistent, her only off the board finish coming in her last start when she finished 4th. I hope Three Rivers has a bright future.

In the 4th at Saratoga, a 1-mile MSW for F&M 3yo+up on the dirt, Magical Song (Tapit x Songbird) was 4th. Winner was pretty chestnut Stunningly (Gun Runner x Happy Mesa).

She is the final foal of the great Cesario(JPN) who has now produced 10 winners out of 11 starters including three G1 winners Leontes(JPN)(King Kamehameha), Epiphaneia(JPN)(Symboli Kris S) and Saturnalia(JPN)(Lord Kanaloa).
