i like that the article says they aren't related despite having the same sire. i understand why same sire isn't as impressive as same dam, but them not being related is just flat out not true.

Yeah, it's definitely pronounced Is The Squeeze Worth the Juice, but yikes man.

I know they've been around for decades, but over the past several years, I've found myself getting really tired of all these "wordsallruntogether" names! When I first started out in this game (about 43 years ago), I thought they were kind of cute and clever. Then for many years, I didn't really care one way or the other. But about 5 years or so ago, I started getting real sick of them!

I resent the time wasted trying to figure out what the name really is. I think some people are just trying to be cute and sabotage race callers. But mainly, I think it's people just being lazy when naming their horses. They want to get around the naming rules to come up with a name that often times makes no sense to anyone but themselves! It's tiresome.

By the way, the first "allruntogether" name I remember seeing was a Lukas.GI-winng filly from around 1982 (give or take) named Arewehavingfunyet. Back then, I thought that was pretty adorable!

I'm going to give the connections the benefit of the doubt and guess that it is a commentary on trainers who try to 'squeeze' too much out of a horse. Perhaps the name asks, 'is it worth it' to wring everything out of a horse, even if it causes harm.

The saying is the juice worth the squeeze is a question people ask when they wonder if all the hard work is worth the reward at the end.

Champagneforashley (1987) is the first one I remember. The name really annoyed me then and now.

For some reason, my brain has always associated him with Cahill Road, which obviously isn't right because he was in Unbridled's crop. It either has to be that Champagneforashley was in the 1990 Wood and Cahill Road was in the 1991 Wood, and neither ran again afterwards or maybe they were both the favorites for their runnings? Equibase doesn't have the charts from that long ago and while I can find replays of both, Cahill Road and Meadow Star went off at the same odds in 1991.

I'm not a fan of run on names either but the purposefully misspelled ones to try and make a super long name are the worst.
