well, in Zedan's own words, “It's very difficult to find this quality of horse. And if there is a horse that we like, our motto is we stop when we own him. I think we've demonstrated that in the past. I don't mean to come across as arrogant, but good horses command a premium and that's what it takes to get winners. Let's just hope he demonstrates that on the racetrack and he makes us all proud.”, but God forbid he spend 10% of that in aftercare.

I'm pretty sure every single horse Zedan gave to Baffert became a G1W (which of course isn't weird at all).

First, I thought of a clubfooted Baffert horse who was a 2x champion and classic winner. Then I was reminded of another clubfooted Baffert horse with a pedigree to rival the $4 million colt, but who was plagued with soundness issues, broke down and was euthanized

Think this will stay sound long enough to get that elusive graded stakes win so he can retire to stud?

given it seems that the Beholders don't hold up in general even with patience, and Curlins need patience, no.Retrospectiv wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 9:30 pm Think this will stay sound long enough to get that elusive graded stakes win so he can retire to stud?

How could they pay that much for a horse with that left front? yeah, now that you mention it... i saw that he was a $7 million yearling RNA and then sold for $1.9 million as a 2yo. sure that's still a really high price, but i wonder what caused that big drop. did the clubfoot become more evident? or were his soundness issues starting to show?mariasmon wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 9:37 pmI was thinking of Take Control.brunanas wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 9:32 pmTen Blessings?mariasmon wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 9:30 pm
