I have a question. I notice that the baby has no halter. It seems to me that new foals up here in NoAmer are fitted with halters very quickly. Is that normally not done in SoAmer, or is it just on a case by case basis? Just curious. TIA!

idk about racing breeders, but at my dressage breeding barn, our foals only follow their moms without a halter until they're close to being weaned, basically.

No she certainly doesn't! I really think it quite funny. Her ears are a bit pinned back, and she looks like she's wanting nothing to do with this stuff at all! I actually like that in her. It's an attitude that might portend well in what she might display in the next 2 or 3 years!

On the other hand, Zenyatta looks so Zen. She is so '..been there, done that. Just go with the flow.'
The farrier appears to have his butt right under her nose, so she must be a really tolerant mom.

Probably others can say more, but I and a friend drove from our town to Hollywood Park to see Zenyatta just before her retirement (and HP's destruction She had been galloping on the training track and was walked around the barn several times--I swear, she looked at all of us each circuit! Then she had a bath and then was brought out for meet and greet. She was a queen and very comfortable with all of us taking photos--I have one wearing my Z T shirt and petting her neck! I remember Carolyn Connolly then of HRTV, tall and glamourous, was in the group as much a fan as any of us. We got to feed her carrots and left a 6 pack of Guiness!
We drove up to the gate worrying about security although we had a pass from the Shireff's barn but when we said "We're here to see Zenyatta" they just sighed and let us through.
