10 y/o SOUND (Lando - Sky Dancing, by Exit to Nowhere) will stand in Australia privately.

The full brother to German HOTY and sire SCALO is a MG2W in Germany and Australia. He is also G1P and was at least SP from age 4 though 10.

Champion New Zealand stallion Per Incanto (USA) (Street Cry) has suffered a paddock accident and will (at least) not be made available to outside breeders this season.
https://www.anzbloodstocknews.com/paddo ... ng-season/

Studmaster Sam Williams was emphatic last night that the stallion’s best interests would come first and that he would not be rushed back into the serving barn before he was right.

“When we bought him, he cost shareholders NZ$10,000 a share and he’s repaid them God knows how many times.

“We owe the horse.”

The US-bred Per Incanto, Italy’s joint champion sprinter in 2007, won six of his 13 race starts which also saw him race in England and the US before being acquired by Little Avondale to begin stud duties at the historic Masterton-based stud in 2011.
Ask me any questions you have about New Zealand and Australia racing

Is Invasor ever going to be returned to KY? From what I understand, the deal was extended to 2021 before he is to return.

Since there was changes at Shadwell's KY location, anyone know if he is still to return to be pensioned or to remain in Uruguay indefinitely?

tachyon posted in Retirements 2023 yesterday that he was pensioned and is not returning to the US. He will live out his days in Uruguay.

Is this the first (and maybe only) horse in the American Hall Of Fame to be permanently pensioned in South America? For that matter, has there ever been a horse in the American Hall Of Fame to be permanently pensioned anywhere but in the United States?

This question never came up for me until just now with thus Invasor thing. I'm just wondering if it really is a first!

Good One BaroqueAgain! I didn't think of him, much to my shame! I just now thought of Alysheba as well. I know he's in our HofF. It was a bit of a different situation with him though. He was repatriated to th KY Horse Park as a gift from Saudi Arabia, but unfortunately died just a few months after arriving here. I guess you would have to say that he WAS permanently pensioned elsewhere though.

I can't think of anybody else. It's got to be pretty rare.

Maybe the first for South America, I don't have the want to go through the Hall of Fame and look where horses ended up that I don't know. But I do know that Azeri is pensioned in Japan. Alysheba was pensioned in Saudi Arabia but was sent back to the US. Coaltown might have been pensioned in France, he died there but I really don't know. There are also quite a few that died outside the US but weren't pensioned(Royal Heroine, Royal Delta, Goldikova, Open Mind, Dance Smartly(died in Canada), Paseana, Davona Dale, Whirlaway(he died in France, I'm not sure if his remains were sent back or Calumet just put up a headstone for him), Exceller...., and I'm sure more. Manila was covering extremely smalls books of mares when he died in Turkey at 26. Silver Charm was pensioned in Japan and sent back to the US. Royal Heroine may have been pensioned.

Paseana died in Argentina. She had fertility issues and was pensioned after just one foal.

Gosh, there's tons more than I thought, which really shouldn't surprise me! I guess by the time you reach the 3/4 century mark, the brain becomes a little less acute in remembering details like that. Or maybe it's just that the brain gets too lazy to try!

Thanks for the input. It's much appreciated, and quite embarrassing!

G2W Taareef (Kitten's Joy - Sacred Feather) will stand in Brazil. It's not clear if this is permanent or if he's just shuttling for 2023.
https://www.turfdiario.com/el-multiple- ... teira-pap/

The article also says that G3W Can the Man (Into Mischief - Smolensk) who moved to Brazil in 2019 has recently suffered an accident and "neurological issues" that will probably take him out of the 2023 season.
