Ahhh okay. Long as he's happy and healthy he'll do fine down there I'm sure his handlers love himmariasmon wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 4:28 pmHe was, but Shadwell's priorities shifted greatly after Sheikh Hamdan died. Yeah, it's disappointing for anyone hoping to visit him in the US again, but he seems happy and well cared-for where he is.Justahorse wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 4:38 pmAhhh okay. As someone who is generally opposed to moving oldsters thousands of miles from their nice, long-term homes, I am happy that Invasor gets to stay home.

here's a veeeery rough translation of the letter:
btw — i'm PRETTY sure that by "pingo" they mean "small". that's one of the meanings it has in portuguese (idk about spanish though) at least and it made some sense?Invasor:
We're writing you this letter to thank you for representing us so well in other countries and for the prizes you received. We didn't know you, but our parents did, but we've been researching and we know that you're a dark bay thoroughbred, small and noble (something like that) born in Argentina but that very early on you were brought to our country. From 12 races, you won 11 in Uruguay and the USA: a very talented legend. The year I (Valentina) was born, you were elected into the HoF in the USA. If nowadays our hearts are filled with joy because we were World Champions in the sub-20 World Cup (soccer), with you we got the title of HOTY and Triple Crown champion. We're proud and happy that you came back to Uruguay in 2015 (i think that's a 5).
This 3rd of August, you turn 21. You're older now but still a world champion standing stud at Haras Cuatro Piedras. We'd love to meet you one day. Thank you Invasor!
P.S.: we wrote you this poem as a group.
A great horse Invasor
You always shined bright when you ran
Small horse of great value
That we'd love to meet.

Cordmaker has been retired. He was injured in a July 7th Allowance race at Laurel and was retired a few days later. He will go to surgery on Monday and then be turned out until retirement plans are made.

Tax has been retired. The 7yo gelding has been plagued by injuries, some of his own causing, since his 3yo year making just 9 starts in the past 4 racing seasons.
