I'll sometimes refer to coffee as "Joe" when I'm home alone and announce that I'm going to get myself a cuppa Joe. But I rarely call it that in public, only with a sort of joking intonation; I think it may be either regional or economically related, like a blue collar thing. (Why do I announce that I'm going to get a cuppa Joe? So the dogs know where I'm going! :P  )
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Have a look at this blatent non trier in the 17 28 race at Worcester.

Horse called Hillrin finishes 3rd colours are red and white quarter checks.

Horse has been banned from running for 40 days and the jockey has been refered to the B H A this jockeys 2nd offence

The trainer has had a big arguement with the owner and he has now removed his horses.

The chart comments from Racing Post are a novella:

Held up in rear, headway 6th, in touch with leaders after 4 out, going easily but tenderly handled home straight, lost ground 3 out, stayed on and went third run-in, eyecatcher (jockey said, regarding running and riding, his instructions were to drop the gelding out early, keep a good hold of the horses' head and take his time, before mounting a late challenge, adding that the gelding settled well and found a nice jumping rhythm, and he had been able to make ground easily mid-race when the pace steadied up, however made a respiratory noise towards the end of the back straight, which continued on several more occasions throughout the race, and had also hung badly right-handed, both facts he had reported at scales and which restricted his ability to be more vigorous in the home straight; trainer confirmed the instructions and that the gelding had been ridden in accordance with them, however whilst acknowledging the gelding had hung-right handed, he did express concerns over the manner in which the gelding was ridden specifically from jumping the last hurdle; trainer also reiterated that he had emphasised to the rider that he needed to be held together for as long as possible based on his analysis of the gelding's run at Exeter two starts back, where he didn't get home for a different yard) (op 7/1 tchd 10/1)

I feel for the trainer. Nick Luck interviewed him yesterday and he sounded like he was on the verge of tears. He hadn’t ever used the jockey in question before, as he has a regular veteran rider his stable uses, but the horse’s owner insisted on it. The main instruction he gave the jockey was to keep a hold on the horse’s head, which the jockey took to an extreme by never even asking the horse to come off the bridle. The trainer has since received several death threats from disgruntled punters.

Luck did a follow up today and it sounds more like Hillsin’s owner was asked/told by the trainer to move his horses elsewhere, as the trainer didnt want the negative PR to continue whenever the horse did race again.

Wasnt the greatest ride by Buick tracking Paddington and trying to beat him for a turn of foot.

Shes a mile and a half filly

Feel he should have made the running and tried to outstay him

Wonder what Frankie will be thinking

Last year’s French Oaks winner Nashwa (Frankel) was an easy winner of the Falmouth (G1) at Newmarket. Later today, another Frankel filly, Epsom Oaks winner Soul Sister, takes on the boys in the Grand Prix de Paris (G1) at Longchamp. The last time a filly won this race was in 1945.

'He's some athlete' - Shaquille surges to brilliant July Cup win despite another nightmare start
https://www.racingpost.com/news/reports ... b84r8vFQr/

He must be a decent horse to overcome these terrible starts and keep landing group I's. I saw him blow it at Ascot but missed the July Cup today.

Good weekend in Europe for Justify. In addition to City of Troy’s romp yesterday, 2yo filly Ramatuelle beat the boys by 4L in the Prix Robert Papin (G2) at Chantilly.

Ayani won the Swedish Derby, owned and bred by ABBA-Benny. A really nice horse trained by Jessica Long and ridden by Oliver Wilson.
