They stand Ghostzapper, who isnt getting any younger and really needs a successor of some kind. I’m sure that played a major role.Miss Woodford wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 3:46 pmThat goes for half the horses at Hill N' Dale.TapitsGal wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 5:44 amAm I unreasonable for thinking he's a prime candidate for gelding and a new career?brunanas wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 3:16 pm Loggins to Hill n' Dale. they kiiinda have a history of standing barely raced stallions, so not too surprising. https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/g ... at-xalapa/
If they can turn Maclean’s Music and Army Mule into decent stallions, then I guess this isnt really that shocking of a move.

Nothing to do with your post just wanted you to see since I know you are a big fan.
Hansen! Apparently they are trying to curb his eating since he has a grazing muzzle on but still nice seeing him.

I have a feeling he's the kind of gray horse who comes back from his pasture as a pinto If nothing else the success of Tapit as a sire has done wonders for the horse shampoo companies.Flanders wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 12:46 pmNothing to do with your post just wanted you to see since I know you are a big fan.

What is the difference between a grazing muzzle and a real one? Is he still a danger to bite while wearing this one?

There are two types of grazing muzzle, the one that allows them to still graze some(Iike Hansen has on) and one that doesn't allow grazing at all(think photos of Spinning World). I don't think he is dangerous at all, its just to slow him down eating so he doesn't get overweight, that A.P. Indy line is easy keepers. Of course I could be wrong and maybe it is dual purpose to allow him to graze and also not bite tourists.Mylute wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 10:44 amFantastic! Thank you. From what I've read, Hansen had a calm and friendly personality, at least in comparison with the usual Tapit. However, there was a post on Twitter (linked here many moons ago) implying that Hansen had become crankier with age. This also coincides with his move to Korea so that of course spawned a massive debate about possible abuse. I know that cranky doesn't necessarily equal aggressive or "bitey" so I was mostly just curious as to how a grazing muzzle differs from a defensive one. Like, if a horse wearing what Hansen has on could still bite someone.

The farms where he stands(Let's Run Farm) is a tourist attraction, perhaps he doesn't like all that noise and kids running about? Unless what I have read is incorrect, people are just allowed to explore and do whatever, take pictures, play games, ride bicycles, take a wagon ride, etc.
My favorite review I just read "The open view is great, and the horses are handsome and cool, unlike the weak horses in the tourist spots."
