Nenikikamen23 wrote: Fri May 19, 2023 12:38 am Does anyone know if Protonico has moved? I no longer see him on Castleton Lyon's website. He's still listed there according to the stallion register, but I know those can be slow to update.
He has an export pending so I guess that's it for him in the US. Maybe an article will come out once he is out of the country.
I think Sumaya still owns him, so maybe he is headed to Haras Sumaya in Chile?
Hope so. They have a video on Twitter of their stallion Sahara Spirit (Tapit - Wild Spirit, by Hussonet) playing with a giant soccer ball and he is really enjoying it.

It'd be harder to watch Gun Runner, or Constitution playing with that giant soccer ball

I love the photo of him with the team from Izmit Stud. He is standing there perfectly and just sticking his tongue out. They take such wonderful care of him, he looks spectacular.

I wonder if Sahara Spirit has dreams about being a cutting horse? Because the way he works that ball seems very cow-cutting-horse-like. :lol:

I wasn't sure where to ask this, but I had a question in regards to a BloodHorse article. When describing a sire's 2023 progeny it states;

"In 2023: 3 sw, 53 2yos, 2 2yo rnrs, 1 2yo wnr, 10 sale yrlgs, avg $25,300."

When it says "53 2yos" does that mean the stallion has 53 2yo workers, 53 named 2yos, or 53 total foals from that crop? Just curious, thanks!!

Its kind of hard to know unless you link to the actual article so I can check numbers on the stallion. I would assume its total 2yos but it could also be named 2yos as sometimes that is all BloodHorse counts.

Am I unreasonable for thinking he's a prime candidate for gelding and a new career?
