The info on the Zenyatta website says that this is her 8th foal. I must be forgetting somebody!
I count the 4 fillies....."Z Princess", Zellda, Zilkha, and now this new little girl. Then, I only count 3 boys......Cozmic One, Ziconic, and the little War Front colt that died shortly after birth. Did Zenyatta have another colt sometime that I'm just blocking out of my memory? Or is it possible that they're counting one of the foals that she aborted?
I'm kind of embarrassed by this, unless maybe the website is wrong, which I doubt. Can somebody please straighten me out on this? Thanks!

Her foals aren't good racers but sometimes greatness skips a generation so let's hope one of her daughter can produce well!

Happy for Z to deliver a wonderful, healthy carbon copy of herself and to finally be retired as a broodmare. About darn time.

They said the filly weighed in at 162 lbs today. Isn't that massive?
No new pics, the same that have already been shared but they said it here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CtaUCKjOQgG/?hl=en

When someone wrote that Zen had a "mini me,' they weren't kidding.
There really isn't anything 'mini' about The Big Mare and, if this filly takes after her mom, she could also be Amazonian.

I was wondering how 'big' that really was, I have no experience with foals - given how tall Z is, the filly looked pretty tall in the pic of her nursing.Flanders wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 9:32 pm They said the filly weighed in at 162 lbs today. Isn't that massive?

I don't know how much the coloring on the hind legs changes but it does look like she's got the same white markings on her hooves as mom as well as the matching blaze, so happy everything seemed to go well given how big she was.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 9:50 pm When someone wrote that Zen had a "mini me,' they weren't kidding.

I know the angle of the photo may be flattering, but it looks like Zen still has those powerful, QHs-eat-your-heart-out hindquarters. <3

They just posted some more today, she's in different spots standing getting groomed by mom in some - she's wearing a halter now so assume she's going in and out now (?).

No visable socks, what you're seeing is just foal camo on her legsfirehorse wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 11:35 pmI don't know how much the coloring on the hind legs changes but it does look like she's got the same white markings on her hooves as mom as well as the matching blaze, so happy everything seemed to go well given how big she was.BaroqueAgain1 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 12, 2023 9:50 pm When someone wrote that Zen had a "mini me,' they weren't kidding.
