Claiborne Farm posted on Facebook the following:
"We would like to start a new tradition today. For every new stakes winner that we (Claiborne Farm) have owned and raised either solely, or in a partnership, we will be posting the respective stakes winner’s picture from when they were a foal. We hope you enjoy!
To get this started, we will honor our most recent stakes winner, Apropos. Apropos is a five year old mare by First Samurai out of Apt. Apropos recently won the American Beauty Stakes at Oaklawn Park. She is out of a half-sister to Blame and is trained by Al Stall. This photo was taken by Dell Hancock in the spring of 2009."

It will be a lot of fun to see all the Claiborne photos. I hope they put one of Swale up. Apropos was a very classy looking foal.

I hope so, too. I would think so- although I am getting teary thinking about him-some you just never get over.

On a happy note, she was indeed quite the little beauty.

He had to be bottle fed when he was very young when Maggy Hawk became ill, perhaps that was the best thing they could find to use at the time.

Could be- thought that it was odd it looked like a beer bottle- you have to use what you have on hand.

HDG was a gorgeous baby! And look at the butt on her. I've seen QH foals with less bountiful booty.

Couldn't say if I know more than you and wouldn't assume so, but I think Z13 has looked very classy from day one. If his classy quality translates to on-track performance, look out world. We have roughly 18 months still to wait for his racing debut, if not longer, but I'm looking forward to that already.
