It was a great race between Mawj and Tayira pulling well clear of the rest.

Do you think Tahiyra would have turned the tables on Mawj if she was fully fit? Mawj was making her third start of the year while Tahiyra hasn’t raced since last September. Dermot Weld did warn that she was a couple of weeks out from peak fitness.

ETA: not a good weekend for Coolmore and AOB.

Yes H B

i would take Taryira to reversed the form next time they meet Mawj was fully fit.

Could be Irish Gns for both next and a clash in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot

This season, a major change in terms of organization has been implemented for the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. In December 2022, the Executive Board of France Galop decided to increase the maximum number of runners from 20 to 24 in the G1 race. The limit of 20 runners in the race last year led to several runners being eliminated at the final declaration.

Good grief. That's just what that water-logged Longchamp race needs - MORE horses swimming into each other as they butterfly stroke around the last turn.

It was a breath taking performance in winning the Prix Guiche group 3

It looks as if Japanese owners felt that way.
ONLY THREE Japanese horses have been nominated to the Arc this year at this stage. :o

Dura Erede(JPN) C3. -- juvenile G1 winner
Through Seven Seas(JPN) M5 -- G3 winner
Saliera(JPN) F4 -- Listed winner

No Equinox.
No Sol Oriens.
No Ushba Tesoro.

Yes, they can still nominate at the final stage with supplements, but.....

IMHO, the Japanese already know that their horses are good enough to win the Arc. Orfevre had the race won in 2012 when he lost focus in the last strides and let himself get caught by Solemia. Not the first (or last) time a 3yo filly has taken advantage of her light weight assignment and won.
Add in the constant heavy track conditions, and I can see why the Japanese are starting to feel like the intense prep/investment of time and money that it takes to bring a horse to Longchamp might be better spent running elsewhere.

Cracking race card at Longchamp today 3 Group 1s and a group 3.

Both the Favs for the 2000 gns and the 1000 gns look hard to beat.

I like the look of Lindy in the French 1000 gns at a each way price.

Outsider Marhaba Ya Sanafi wins the French 2000 gns beating Isaac Shelby 1/2 length

the winner was 33/1

Fav American Flag lost about 5 lengths coming out of the stalls and was doing best work late on.

I would put a line through his run today

I’m very interested to see how well she does away from Longchamp.

G1 winning Godolphin Sprinter Creative Force was euthanized after breaking down in the G2 Duke of York Stakes today. The Dubawi gelding was 5 years old. He won the British Champion Sprint in 2021 and was a constistent performer in top sprints across the globe. He was 3rd in the BC Turf Sprint last year.

The link provided in our Memoriam thread takes you to many homages and photos dedicated to the personable chestnut, who was clearly loved by his people. :(

He won! It’s his fifth G1 win in four different countries.
