Yakteen quoted this morning "The important thing is that he came back fine," or words to that effect.
"It must be true, I read it on the internet" is supposed to be sarcastic, accompanied by the eyes-rolling emoji.
I ran marathons. I saw the Taj Mahal by Moonlight. I drove Highway 1 in a convertible. I petted Zenyatta.

Very sad end for the old boy. (I don't know if I could watch a horse I once thought so highly of I named him after my dad go so far down the ranks and end like that, but maybe that's just me,)brunanas wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 1:33 pm nasty breakdown in the first at Belmont just now... 8yo ridgling Reed Kan went down hard in the stretch and was vanned off. doesn't look survivable though

Watching a MSW race from Will Rogers, and the winner crossed the wire...and then broke down and went down in a heap. Frelling Fandrool Aussie analyst Adam comes on afterward and doesn't say a single fracking word about that horrible breakdown.
It's not the first time I've seen this callous attitude from Adam. He doesn't ever address a breakdown, even when one happened in the stretch of a big stakes race in Australia. Along with calling all horses "IT," he doesn't appear to care about injuries. Not worth his time apparently, to call the track and find out what happened to horse and rider.

The results are up on DRF already, and the horse's name was Mattfoleyvanman (Blueskiesnrainbows). It did not look good for him.

It was a Friday night a few weeks ago, when he was covering race cards from one of the fall festivals. I do not remember the race...sorry.

I've noticed that callers and commentators from Australia often refer to horses as "it" rather than specifying a gender. It may just be a cultural thing.

Yeah. It's one of the things that I hate about Adam McGrath's time on the Fandrool desk. I know that he has the PPs right in front of him, so it's not like he doesn't know exactly which runners are male or female. Hate it...although not nearly as much as I hate his indifference to breakdowns that happen right under his nose during his shifts. I don't know if that is an Aussie cultural attribute.
Most of the Fandrool hosts give a crap. They will express concern about the riders and/or horses, try to reach the track to get info. They may not be able to get that info, but at least they don't just sit at the desk, grinning as they go on to the next race...and possible wagers.

Any updates on Dream Bigger? He last raced the 18th of June of 2022. No workouts no news on him. Is he even alive? Did he retire? Exported?
